FIFA 11 to add custom audio feature
30
During E3, FIFA 11 producer David Rutter briefly demonstrated the game's new "Personality+" framework, which aims to better recreate each player's real-life abilities and personality in the game. Using an early build of the game, Rutter showed how Arsenal defender Sol Cambell has been reduced to a lumbering dribbler -- at least compared to teammate Andrey Arshavin, a nimble-footed midfielder. By contrast, Cambell's tackle zone had been made far more expansive than Arshavin's. Aside from these obvious skill tweaks, it remains to be seen how much individual "personality" will factor into the gameplay.
Actually, FIFA 11 will allow players to add a bit of their own personal touch to the overall presentation. Rutter confirmed that the game will support custom audio settings, allowing players to upload sound clips -- chants, music tracks, 90,000 resounding vuvuzelas -- into the game and set them to play in accordance with various events in the match.

Everyone complains that the vuvuzelas are the worst thing to happen to the world cup, and what does EA do? add them to the game....at least its optional.

All these features are great... as you would expect FIFA to improve annually.
But I'd love to see a 5-a-side or Futsal mode... Maybe a "Vote to Kick" option as well for those morons in Virtual Pro/Be a Pro mode online play who prefer to score own goals for LOLz...

What I think would really help with the atmosphere of the game is if the officials throw calls out at the last second of a game, changing the game result, and refuse to state what the actual call was for specifically, until they have some time to make something up.

You mean give a free kick for shirt pulling and excessive jostling in the box (both being clamped down on this WC), blowing the whistle before the ball reaches any players, and then have the players continue and try to score despite play having been stopped?

How many people mistype vuvuzela as vuvuzelda?

Can't help but feel that with some tinkering, the vuvuzelas could be made to do the Dam Busters March, if anything would make me play for victory, it would be that.

All excellent ideas. I would sincerely pay more for those features.
Sadly, the way it works now is that fifa or Nascar or F1 all get some power over how their sports are represented, until we get a completely sterile environment with no humor.
I realize I'm responding too seriously to your joke, but imagine a Nascar race that had hot dog wrappers getting stuck in your radiator, or ending with a rain of beer cans if you won too many races (if you win a lot you are hated in Nascar). Or a Soccer game having a riot break out.
Seems like it would be pretty damn fun to play a game like that.
Even just a 'bad call' option, for most sports games, where the officials clearly screw up, would be hilarious.
