Homefront trailer shows the softer side of insurrection

THQ wasn't just promoting its upcoming shooter Homefront with a fake North Korean platoon at E3, you know. The company also released the title's first gameplay trailer, which you'll find posted after the jump. It's actually a troubling minute-long vignette of our dudes getting wrecked by their dudes, but hey -- at least the music is pretty.

When that dude was burning, did anyone else think the fire looks like the fire out of Wallace and Gromit A Grand Day Out?

This constitutes as a gameplay trailer?

THQ is pushing this game hard...but still no release date?
I'm going to assume it's not going up against Call of Duty.

Wait, a sniper shot through the body went through the leg instead? Am I seeing things?

That close? Kinda defeats the purpose of it beng a sniper rifle if that's the case, lol, look at the angle as well, impossible angle from where he shot.

100% Slow-motion does not make for good trailers.
And scripted sequences don't count as gameplay trailers.

Note to THQ: When your flames look like that, don't zoom so close on them.

Hahahah exactly. Horrible, embarrassing flame effects.
Hell, everything about that trailer is embarrassing, or at least should be, to those devs. Soldiers getting run over by LAVs?
Trauma Studios is dead. Their new studio, Kaos Studio, makes nothing but sub-par games.

I'm cautiously excited for this game. THQ has been publishing a lot of neat, and kind of unexpected titles lately. Metro 2033. Red Faction Guerrilla. If this is part of their whole 'we are only going to release stuff that is unique and pretty good' thing their PR dude shave been going on about, I'm interested.

What happened to Trauma Studios? (The guys from that studio made the current Kaos Studios that is making this game)
They made the incredible, free Desert Combat mod for BF1942, and now they're making this generic, unremarkable shooter with a focus on a stupidly unplausible singleplayer campaign.
Oh noes, t3h North Koreans are coming to get us! Why not make it something more believable, like an army of Polar Bears from Russia?

@(Unverified) I totally agree..this is such a stupid scenario...I don“t get it how they could come up with that...What`s next? Iceland conquering the galaxy?
I know, one shouldn't read to much in to games but there`s another problem I got with this one: the depiction of asians as evil aggressors. I mean, yeah, North Korea (NK) is ruled by a criminal regime for which we can only hope that it collapses better sooner than later; but the other trailer explains how the rest of asia surrenders to NK and then joins them to fight America - couldn't they come up with something new and more creative? What`s the point in reactivating old stereotypes of red asian hordes threatening the US? BTW: It doesn't even look amazing, so I don`t expect too much of a good game - one for which I could ignore the ethical issues...
