@FNG

You'll also need to buy some storage to save game data. Anyway, you'll eventually end up buying lots of overpriced accessories.

It's a deal anyway you swing it. What accessories? A HDD, maybe HD cables (which are very cheap now,) and what else?

Seriously, I'm curious.

I'm hoping against hope that the price of the hard drives will eventually drop as the new model becomes more prevalent. I'm ready to jump from a 20gig to a 250 gig

My local Walmart is also selling the Arcade and Elite at these prices. However, the local Kmart has yet to adjust.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Make sure you have an HDD, Memory Card, or compatible jump drive to "Move" your profile from one to the other. Since Netflix is associated to your Gamertag/Account, you'll need to have that profile on the spare when you watch Netflix. Xbox won't allow you to "Copy" a profile and once you recover it on one console, you'll have to recover again on another. Easiest way it to simply keep your profile on a Memory card.

I've been visiting local Best Buys, looking for the new model and came across TONS of older model 360s that I assume need to clear inventory, before the new models arrive. One store had at least 30 Final Fantasy editions.

By the way, also came across TONS of PS3s and Wiis at Best Buy as well, so I'm assuming there's no longer a shortage there.

I work at Best Buy... and I can't tell you how many times I'd hear that being yelled from across the store...

I kinda feel bad for people who work at Staples.

Actually, the Arcade unit comes with enough onboard memory for you to transfer your account to and use for things like Netflix. Not sure if it has enough to actually download the Netflix app, but that can be remedied easily if you just get one of those USB storage devices.

Picked up a spring 2010 Arcade 360 at Target last week for $150+got a free $50 gift card. Being the spring bundle it came with Viva Pinata+Banjo-Kazooie as well. For a few days some stores had them for $130+50GC as well if you got lucky.

Selling my old Xenon Pro +20gb HD to my brother in law for $100 and using my 120gb hacked drive with the new arcade.

Still good for the victims of RROD. Mine finally died for good a couple months back so this may bring me back when they get a little more cheaper. My still working hard drive won't work with the new xbox anyhow.

I dunno--I think the new xbox short is the better value. Wifi adapter preinstalled, 250gb HD, and I already have cables and controllers from my original 360. I could care less about the bundled games for arcade or whatever b/c I either have them already or don't want them.

That's exactly why I got one; my Xenon Pro has went through 4 repairs, is still a Xenon (not a Zephyr or Opus), and is out of RRoD warranty.

Granted I know about the bolt fix and I have the know-how and tools to do it, but I just don't want to mess with it.

give it up already. You don't need those things to play the 2 included games. It's a great deal.

Personally I'm glad wifi is not included. It can't be used properly anyway. (G anyway) I have my PS3 and my 360 hard wired in my living room. My bedroom 360 is hard wired and so is my daughters 360 in her room. We use media center on all 3 boxes. 4 ASTC tuners and an 2 HDPVR's for DirecTV HD boxes. You can't stream HD over wireless G for shit. I have my blu-ray's on my WHS and stream to my PS3. Can't do that wirelessly buddy. Maybe you can use wifi for your shit low bitrate vids you downloaded, but I don't do shit picture quality.

Gamestop has a pretty awesome trade in deal for the new xbox. I traded in my launch console, wifi adaptor, controller, games, and used $35 credit, I ended up paying $0 for the new one. Not bad going from a launch console to a brand new one. Now I have HDMI, 230 gb more space, and a quieter and more reliable system. If you have a console and some games that you don't want, check out the deal.

A note over looked by this article the original systems that are out there is all there is, this price drop is while supplies last. I suspect Microsoft expects the current original stock to last through summer and into fall when they are planning to release a second version of the 360S system to replace the Arcade.
