Are they using any kind of online pass thing?

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze

On the EA Sports site there is this quote "Online Pass launches in all future EA SPORTS simulation games on the PS3 and Xbox 360 beginning in June with Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11"

Take from that what you will, but I'm pretty sure this has the online pass thing too.

I'll stick with UFC Undisputed, thank you.

Undisputed 2010 is a complete cluster f*ck. The online still doesn't work, ground game is still broken and career mode is awful. I bought undisputed two years in a row and unless it's gotten an overhaul or new dev I'll never buy it again. It's junk. The only good aspects the roster of fighters.

I haven't picked up 2010 yet, but UFC 2009 was great in my book and by all reviewer's accounts, 2010 is even better, so I'll take your opinion with a grain or two of salt.

you'll take his opinion with a grain of salt huh? Might wanna look at all the complaining from people that have the game then.

They released a patch yesterday which helped online quite a bit but, as you will see with even a tad bit of research, most people are still unhappy with the game. But you can take my facts with a grain of salt as well if you like.

@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell thats not the only good part of the game tho i agree the ground game needs a complete overhaul. i mean spinning the analog stick trying to get out of these submissions is nearly impossible. i'd like to see the game testers play this on the hardest setting, all the ground work is mind boggling difficult.

I don't play fighters online, so that's a moot point for me. This game is about inviting friends over and beating each other mercilessly, so as long as the ground game is equally "broken" for both players, I can live with it.

To each his own- you might want to learn that before you come off as such a pompous ass with all your "facts".

The graphics don't look nearly as good as Undisputed, but I would like someone more familiar with the game and MMA in general to rate the various aspects of fighting (ground game, submissions, take downs, etc).

I agree. Nothing against the writers since the articles are usually informative and entertaining, but a going a little more in-depth would be great as I'm curious to know the intricacies of the game and how it stacks up against UFC. I know you said you're new to the sport, but when you're calling full mount the stance where you are "sitting on a guy's chest and punching his face mercilessly," I really lost interest in the rest of the article.

Undisputed 1 was completely broken on the ground. Body lock, toss, guard pass, mount and spam transition block while throwing random hammer fists is what it devolved into.

The ground game in ea mma looks epic and the standup is more fluid because you can use the fight night controls.

@Resident Evil 6 Puppie Madness

It's more then just Strikeforce. They have fighters from Dream as well, and heck they even have Randy Couture in the game. So really it's a best of guy who don't fight for Zuffa game, not just a Strikeforce game.

Developed by "Tiburon," who somewhat consistently hammer out NFL, PGA, and Nascar games.

I was generally disappointed with UFC2K9. Only a handful of fighting styles, but most of the fighters ended up the same. Demian Maia is just as likely to knock someone out as Anderson Silva. The animations more than anything broke the immersion for me. Ultimate Mannequin Championship..

Undisputed was solid game but i thought the controls were overcomplicated and too intimidating for new players to enjoy early on..

its only fun when 2 ppl already know the controls and a lil bit about MMA too.. if either part is missing it all falls apart very fast

EA Sports MMA looks promising if they can beat the UFC control curve. plus ill support anything that makes dana white scream bloody murder..

I already have undisputed but I think it's too sped up. The gameplay videos at E3 have attracted me to this game. I'll probably go against my rule and get both.

I believe MMA is going to be a one game market. You'll have big dog UFC and their Undisputed and that will be that. Akin to WWE and wrestling. It will be the rule of lesser returns after that ... figuratively and literately.
