Sith sister site Massively is picking up chatter from the Star Wars: The Old Republic forums (and evidence from readers) that a closed beta for the game is occurring this weekend, June 25-27. Allegedly, only 100-200 invitations were sent out, so check your email to find out if you had enough midi-chlorians for acceptance.
We're following up with LucasArts for details and confirmation, but it's like trying to reach Alderaan.

Depends on which era you try to reach Alderaan in. If it's after ANH, no luck there. But if it's in the TOR era, it'll be easy as pie. Plus no need to contact LucasArts, since BioWare already spoke on their forums about it. They said the only 2 things testers can say without breaking the rules is that there is a testing, and that they are part of it. Also, BioWare has NEVER called this a beta, only Game Testing, so y'all are putting words in BW's mouth by calling it a beta. :P

ANH=A New Hope, the original SW movie. That should be the only "initialism" that's hard to understand. TOR=The Old Republic, BW=BioWare. :)

It's started for 2 separate sets of people doing different classes. Also that's the best looking Jedi right there.

Apparently being registered, visiting daily, but not ever having posted is just not enough. :(

Ugh, no invite but there was an email informing me of the Syberia games being 50% off at gog.com so that's good news.

The 200 are most likely celebrities and/or the owners of the top TOR fansites. Don't bother looking.

I want to know what a 2-day test can accomplish. Launch conditions, maybe, but they must be very concentrated on certain aspects because there is no way to get a complete test in 2 days.

It is simply the first of many. This is focusing on the starting zones covering levels 1-7 apparently.
