i wanna play it but if it doesn't sell on Xbox who says it won't sell on the PS3 ? that's a load of crap IMO i think they should just bring it out on PSN if they did i would buy it .. the screen shot looks like Castlevania SOTN.

@HardBoiled2009 Given that they wont apparently make for PSN unless it sells well on XBL, there's no chance to see if it sells better on PSN unless it sells well enough on XBL.

Its a stupid catch-22 argument.

Me? I'd much rather see all the DS titles offered on PSN/XBL. Hopefully with some HD re-tooling if they're going to ask more than $10 for them.

Downvote all you want, bitches. Sure I went a little fanboy with the free PSN, but you can NOT deny how bad the 360 D-pad is after all this time.

It was why I bought SotN and SSF4HDR on PS when I had both at the time.

Who? And why??? I can't even begin to understand why anyone would want to have cross-game chat. Who the hell do you talk to while playing other games? What are you, a 16 year old girl who needs to be talking to their friends at all times? It is that important?

I can barely stand talking to my friends while playing the same game, let alone while we were playing different games.

The ONLY reason I can see it being an advantage is when you are trying to hack or be an ass. As in, cross game chatting in the SAME game but on different teams and such. Other than that, I just do not understand why it is so important.

What...? Do you have friends man? There's this thing called socializing. Try it. I can't even believe that you see Cross game chatting as a bad thing. You have never wanted to play something different than your friends, but still want to talk to them? I guess I shouldn't ask you that question since it appears you hate your friends. Should try finding new ones in that case.

yeah, even though its not as important as live users tend to make it out to be, it definitely isn't useless. it would be a fantastic addition to PSN. seems to me like you're the anti-social type.

Haha you guys are hilarious. I am definitely a social person. I bar tend 4 nights a week and spend lots of time with friends. I do not, however, cross game chat. I just find it silly and distracting. And if you couldn't figure out that "I don't like talking to my friends" bit was supposed to be slightly humorous, you're f-ing dense.

I'm just curious what the story will be like, if there even is a story which I kind of doubt. These characters are several hundred years apart in the time line.

The story, in a nutshell, is that the mighty heroes have to get the magical thing to the mythical place in order to kill the monstrous villain.

I don't see it *not* performing well on Xbox. At least well enough that a game like this can expect. It is freaking old school castlevania with a multiplayer twist for god's sake.

That and it is in the "summer of XBL" or whatever they call it, so they are sure to get some good promo's for that.

I read a good theory about that fact right there. Konami didn't go multiplat with it out of the gate because they had a slot in the summer of xbox push, which usually do really well. Supposedly they might not have received a spot if it wasn't at least initially exclusive to xbox.

That's fine with me. I have an xbox collecting dust in the corner somewhere, but I'm definitely not going to patronize them with that attitude. Maybe I will when it comes to "my" platform of choice. And by that, I mean the one I actually play.

Why would they not make the XBLA and PSN versions concurrently? This makes no sense considering the market for both versions is identical. That's like Megaman 9 being exclusive to XBLA only. That's not just an xbox market.

Castlevania SOTN was one of the top selling Xbox Live Arcade titles when it came out and for 2007 overall.

Not really feeling the whole multiplayer thing. It all seems to be challenges, speed runs and boss fights.

If it were more of a classic Castlevania game, I'd have bought it day one.

i don't think this game will be a good game, everybody that bought castlevania SOTN bought a game with a really good story, and like it seems this will be a the "first to get to the top of the castle wins"

i don't care about the multiplayer, i just care about the story of the game, that's all "a really good story like all castlevania games)

I'm a huge Castlevania fan, but the games aren't exactly known for their riveting stories. Man goes into castle. Man kills Dracula. Rinse, repeat. The only time that a Castlevania story ever surprised me was in Lament of Innocence.

I hate Igarashi. Ever since SOTN he's been running the series into the ground, releasing only for GBA and DS and now 360. It's clearly obvious he's avoiding the Sony platforms and without good reason. There is no reason why there shouldn't be a PSN version and there shouldn't be any reasons why there weren't any new Castlevania's on the PSP.

I'm glad they took the main series out of his hands. He doesn't even know what he's doing anymore. He would have ruined the HD game and he would have made it exclusive to 360 to boot.

I don't see where your hate for that guy comes from, a lot of the GBA and DS Castlevania games are great. Circle of the Moon is one of my top hand-held game of all times. I guess since it's not in your platform of your choice then he's obviously running it into the ground?

@chrisredfield31 Obviously you haven't played any Castlevania games. None of the DS games have a classic CV feel to it. It's Metroidvania (not that there's anything wrong with it) but the characters just aren't Castlevania. Look at the difference between Alucard and the later ones like Johnathan and Soma. Alucard does not look/feel like an anime character.

So going back to console exclusivity, exclusivity is nothing but a Japanese trend/bandwagon that serves to do nothing for the industry. I'm not a big Microsoft fan, but they've made everyone see that there is nothing wrong with making games multi-platform (besides FF13, etc) That is something good they brought to the table in gaming. It is 2010. We shouldn't have to be forced to pick a platform we don't want to buy to play a certain franchise.

Certainly some companies are starting to pickup on this, such as Square Enix who have made 2 quality Kingdom Hearts games on both the DS and PSP. DS might not have gotten Monster Hunter, but the Wii got the next iteration and there's a PS3/360 game coming out which leaves nobody out. Of course, there is a time and place for 3rd party exclusives, however there are certain franchises that people love and should be made available to all audiences.

Anyone got bored by the time they hit the second castle?

I liked COTM more and aria of sorrow was not to bad but gaaaa Dawn of sorrow felt like more generic BS, Order of Ecclesia is not to bad but they really need to get away from generic designs and get back to core CV elements.

LOI was not that bad but I liked the N64 games more and COD was just generic action game stuff really the thing to hurt LOI and COD is level design and maybe some power/ability pacing but mostly the boxy unimaginative level layouts were the worst and frankly it seems like LOS is going to have a god of war on the rails feel to it...... if powers are paced well(better than dantes inferno or GOW3) it should be a solid game.

We'll probably get downvoted for this, but I was just recently playing through SotN, and while I enjoyed going through the first castle which was designed extremely well, my enthusiasm dropped significantly when I started playing the inverted castle. It'd be nice if it was a completely new area...but it's not.

And even though I knew the moment was coming I didn't expect to be as disappointed as I was. :(

I think the thing that disappoints me the most about this game is the reuse of sprites. It doesn't offend as much as that Castlevania puzzle game they're making but it's still pretty bad. They're being pretty SNK about all of this.
