Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is playing catch-up

The Joystiq Podcast wasn't the only regular feature that we were to slammed to produce last week -- the rigors of E3 2010 also prevented us from doing the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup. As such, we've decided to include our favorite comics from the past two weeks this time around. We're sure you won't mind; as busy as we were writing the news last week, we're sure you were equally busy consuming it.

Below you'll find our seven favorite comics from the past fourteen days. Give them all a once-over, and vote for your favorite in the poll posted after the jump!

@Omega2k3 Our comic has been featured on the poll many times in the past, but I can see where you are coming from. Being the first comment certainly didn't help the situation though.

For what it's worth, I do honestly believe that DU had the best comic of the bunch. Better than what I posted at least.

@MNC Dover I like the comic. Good job! One question though on 'Release Slump' one of the games in the stack is "God of War II", did you mean to put "God of War III"?

2/3 made me laugh. Better success rate than the actual wrap up. The first 2 were sarcastic and witty which made me laugh, but the third was a little childish and obvious, so I expected it, though that means it probably would have been the best in the wrap up.

2 and 3 were amusing, not laugh worthy, but kinda mild on the video game theming so I can see why they overlooked it.

@tenacioustoaster Yeah that was a mistake. My artist isn't a gamer, so he tends to overlook things like that. As soon as I saw it I realized that wasn't going to get by the fanbase we've built and I'd have to apologize for it. :-)

As a side note, did you guys notice we brought color back? My girlfriend is on summer break from school and is in a master's program for comic book creation, so we asked her to color our comics. Being the wonderful woman she is, she agreed. So, limited time color for everyone. What do you think? Better, worse, about the same?

Not saying they were bad, I actually very much liked the Kinect one. I'm just saying that I don't really think it's proper etiquette.

Tempting to downvote you for the appearance of desperation by posting first, but on the other hand, your second one was at least as good as anything else in the main list.

Btw, I do think MNC has steadily gotten better over the last year. It still has a lot of ups and downs, but you are obviously learning a lot.

Such a good week. Went with What Fans Like. Only because I recently changed my wallpaper to Half Life 2. I forgot how much I loved that game.

It's also "I couldn't care less." Not "I could care less." Quit being so lazy and say the "n't" Otherwise your statement doesn't make any sense.

That "Of Noobs and Men" comic is terrible by the way. Why would Gabe Newell care what Nintendo does? Let alone care enough to consider himself competing with them? Valve didn't even have a conference at E3, so what losing party is he supposed to represent?

The joke doesn't refer to Gabe competeing with Nintendo. It's about the general "Best of E3 competition" that everyone strives to "win". This comic infers that Gabe would have won it with HL3, hence the joke.

If Valve cared about "winning" E3, they would have had their own show, like EA and Ubisoft. The author of the webcomic is simply projecting his fantasy, and using a flimsy excuse.

Fanboys would've been my pick of the week had it been noticed.

....I know it's been 8 months, but it paid off!

NerfNow, VGCats and MNC could all have did well this week. There were some weak entries made it this week. DU, BitF and oNaM were decent though.

Digital Unrest. Short and to the point.

I liked Brawl in the Family, but they could've done more with the idea.

VGCats should have been in there and would have won.

Upon failing that nothing stood out so a random number generator picked Penny Arcade. I am not happy but stood to my RNG convictions.

digital unrest wasnt that funny, shouldve included sony as well seeing as their controller resembles the wii the most

Aww man, I just realized that Kirby's Epic Yarn is for the Wii and not the DS! Damn.
