I hope they evolve into something that looks tight, because those pokemon in that screenshot are fugly.

not at all..they look too cute for me. I know many kids play and what not, but even when i was a kid playing the early ones there was a certain level of cuteness and coolness with the pokemon.
Some pokemon just looked so cool and strong it made you want to battle with them. But these look like all cute, no cool factor or strength, in my opinion.

Yeah, but unless its evolves into something with beastly stats, I'd never use it. Mainly because I just never use normal types(snorlax is the only exception). And who knows, Maybe they evolve into something really badass, then all the haters will be like "OMG!!!11!!!1! Thats like my Fav poke ever!!1!!!!!11" like they do every generation

Yeah, but unless its evolves into something with beastly stats, I'd never use it. Mainly because I just never use normal types(snorlax is the only exception). apparently there's a couple of new yet unnamed pokemon that were shown off..
some caterpillar lady looking thing,some rock monster, a weird floating frog looking thing, a mole I think, a lizard with golden armor.. a sarcophogus with ghost hands, and a tarantula ....
they may look weird now..but I'm already starting to get used to them..

if 3DS is due out in March worldwide, and this is due in September in Japan.. What release window are they shooting for the US date? Maybe they'll release it with a couple 3DS features or something, who knows.

Those Pokémon are looking more uninspired than ever, but Nintendo will never call it a day as long as morons are willing to buy whatever crap they churn out every couple of years. Why mess with a highly profitable formula? Just add a hundred more shitty critters, update the graphics, tweak the UI, add some pointless new stats and features, and you're good to go. It's like the Madden of RPGs. Go ahead and down vote me - it'll end up drawing more attention to my post, if anything.

Is that reverse psychology? Cause I completely agree and am giving you an upvote. Messed up thing is even if everyone on this thread boycotts it, millions more will still pick it up and fuel even more uninspired pokemon designs. Black legendary is the only one I really like so far.

I'm not stupid enough to write the game off as a whole because of some character designs, but I really, really do not like the look of the fire and water starters, the alligator, and the pink thing.
The grass starter looks okay, and the gears remind me of Magnemite's evolutions.
The lightning horse/unicorn kinda looks like a Neopet. Anyone else agree?

I think that pink thing may be a pre-evolution of drowzee...if you look at the sprite it seems to have a drooping nose and a pattern around it's waist
