@Ruberia

This games going to lose a lot of Day 1 sales because it went from having summer competition to pre-fall line-up.

Off my head I can think of Halo, Max Payne 3, Test Drive Unlimited and Guitar Hero. No telling what else is coming out a few weeks before or around that timeslot but, Capcom screwed themselves on this one...

@PlatinumSkeet Exactly, the August time slot was perfect because the big titles start rolling in from September onwards. now watch them cry about bad sales and refuse to do DR3. at least they won't start making threats like Sega. : \

@Ruberia It is either for submission risk bugs or perhaps polish. I hope it is the latter but if they are pushing it back now, it is likely the former. Something nastier than zombies in that source code.

@Alex R

I bet this has something to do with the having the "Case Zero" XBLA game launch before the title...

@Che J P Good, then they can deal with the angry fans that will come to burn down their studio in RAGE!

In Canada? Yeah right.

Pushing back DR2 to September is dangerous territory. That's when the big releases start to take over most of the gaming sales. I'm not sure how big DR will be this time.

This is a sequel that's taken over 4 years to arrive. Maybe it's actually being done by Polyphony Digital.

All I want for this game to have is a firearm overhaul. The shooting mechanics in Dead Rising kind of -- no, they really sucked.

@Doctor Septapus IMO it was balanced, it stopped you from going rambo when using firearms.

@Doctor Septapus

It also isn't a shooter. 99% of the weapons in Dead Rising were not guns.

Granted. But that is my preferred play style and I would just like to see refinement in that area of the game. It may be that I just suck at it, but towards the endgame when the army comes in to purge the mall, it is near impossible for me to stomach to the end.
I would rather have a fighting chance than no chance at all against gun-wielding NPCs.

Darn it. This date is after Reach comes out. My chances of playing any game other then Reach for at least a couple of months afterit's release is virtually nil. That's why I liked the August release date because I could have something different to play before I went and lost myself...

Notice that the game has been moved from Aug. 31 to Sept. 28, meaning it's now releasing 28 days later.

The video game industry is no different than engineering imho, so this slip on the release date isn't at all surprising.

Just hope that it gives them to time to get done, what they need to get done, and that the final product is great.

Was really hoping to spend September knocking zombies. The 2nd half of the year will be expensive as always...now that everything seems to be coming at once
