Sakurai is basically just clueless in general. Remember that time he decided not to include good online play in Brawl because that would make it "too competitive?" Haha, good times.

How could we forget that. How could we.

Well, since this game isn't supposed to be multiplayer like brawl, so I think I'll be fine.

I hope.

Did he mention how he would be implementing tripping into this game?

I hope this isn't the game that is spearheading the 3DS campaign. There were some better games (and better looking games) on the system when I saw it.

That thing was incredible. I've never wanted a DS and I never prefer 3D movies, but this thing made 3D work for some reason. A whole different kind of 3D.

i was hoping for retro style gameplay, a metroid style platformer shooter, but this could be good too.

I'm gonna buy two 3DSes since I'll probably get too excited and jizz all over the first one.

I think in a lot of Nintendo is just clueless overall, take the 3DS for example, it's been what five years since the psp was released and the #1 requested feature for the psp was a second analog nub, and after 5 years of this screaming at Sony, Nintendo goes, two analog sticks? nnnaaawwww we're gonna make a control scheme circa 2005!

You forgot about the touch screen. It can already perfectly emulate an analog stick.

Because controlling the character with the analog nub and using the touch screen as a camera control and using the face buttons all at the same time isn't awkward at all

Doesn't change the fact that either the touch screen or the face buttons will have to be used as camera control, and as countless psp shooters have proven, while effective it's not as good as a second analog nub

No it can't.
Imagine Wind Waker 3DS:
Analog nub to move, face buttons to attack, L and R for targeting and shield, touch screen for camera and inventory.
With two nubs, you could map a camera to one. It would be much nicer and less clumsy.

Camera controls are pretty poor in manny games with one stick. Any Wii owner can tell you that.

There's also controlling the screen via moving the 3DS around (using the back camera to sense depth). The DSi already does that, but poorly. But with the 3D camera on the back, it should be more effective.

I wonder if Nintendo founded Project Sora specifically for this? Or its just a coincidence that the team named "Sky" ended up with it.

@gatotsu911 I think it's a reflex sort of thing that comes up every time the name "Sakurai" is mentioned.

No one really expected Melee to reach the high level of tournament play that it did, so to release a sequel that drastically reduced it's appeal for tournament play and just generally felt like a nerf was a huge disappointment to a LOT of people.
