Look up egotistic. It really doesn't fit there.

Also, I agree with the other guy. I was thinkin "if the free games are good enoufh, this could be worth it!" but losing access to them after you end your Plus account ruins it for me too.

I'll wait till month three to see if it is worth it. As it is, I've purchased too many of the games already...

I would if it were a monthly fee like you can do with Xbox, but since it is a full down payment, no dice, not enough features, and you cannot keep the things you get..WTH?

In case you didn't realize:
NOBODY FRICKIN GIVES A DAMN

Few people have mics, and why would you want to talk to friends while playing a game (unless it was for coordination and planning), it messes up your focus.

The only feature that anyone really wants is Cross Game Chat. Until Sony can figure that out I'm not paying for this garbage. It's starting to look sad for Sony, They have been working on Cross Game Chat and still can't figure it out after 3 years. lol. Wake up American people. The Japanese don't care about what you want. The only reason there is a PSN to start with is because they copied Microsoft. Look at the Wii. It's online capabilities are crap just like the PS3. They keep dangling Cross Game chat like a carrot in front of you but they never deliver.

I couldn't care less for cross game chat on my PS3. Plus, I thought Mircosoft had some sort of patent for X game chat. Maybe you should complain to them about it or do what I did. Buy an xbox.

I think the lack of cross-game chat is a technical issue. The PSN architecture just wasn't built to support cross-game stuff, they had no idea it would catch on like it did. The architecture not supporting it is pretty evident with their "cross-game invites" addition which are really just a hack (it's not really a cross-game invite, they just put in a trigger that sends you a text message when you have a new in-game invite, but you still have to actually join the game to access the invite object).

@BigEgo007

LOL at the idea that Microsoft has a patent on cross-game chat. As if that were something that was even patentable, the fact that it exists on other platforms (Steam, for instance) should make it completely obvious to you that no such patent exists.

Who is this everybody? Most people I know have cell phones so they're not dying to chat with someone on a gaming console. I'd rather, you know, play games.

Cross-game chat isn't about chatting about the weather while you each play separate games. It's about making it 1000 times easier to organize games together online with your friends. I could go into detail about the millions of ways it does this like we did for Wiizer (who had the same ridiculous idea that you do, that people use this to chit chat while they each play their own separate single player game), but it would just be 10 paragraphs wasted because you don't "get it" until you've had it, and then you wonder how you ever lived without it. I feel bad for you, because you're really missing out on the most fun way to play games online.

I don't know why you would come to that guys defense. Obviously a troll who believes only his opinion matters and no one elses.

As for the patent on X game chat, I'll have to find the article. I remember reading it when cross game chat came to live.

When it comes to cross game chat, we just have different opinions I guess. Don't force your opinion on me and I'll return the favor. I use my consoles for what they were made for, so I'm not missing out on anything.

Seriously kids, it is like any service. If I stop paying for comcast, my internet is gone. Sure the wording may be weird, but there is no extra charge when you download it (unlike say, some discounted but not free DLC), so technically it *is* free.

And they have said there will be actual free games. As in, games you get to keep even if you cancel. Plus there are tons of other little freebies you get.

With the free 3 months, it comes out to $3 a month. Less than renting ONE game at blockbuster for a week. I think I will check it out for the hell of it. If it is not for me, I have 15 months to decide.

I've been living in a heavily marketed society all my life. I've gotten use to the manipulative language used by companies. I understand the product and it's terms. I really don't care how they phrase it. I'm surprised that people don't realize this goes and act astounded and outraged. Get use to it.... marketing language like this is here to stay.

WOOOOWWW, THE WHINING!!!! People, please just stop it. There is nothing wrong with the idea of this service, especially if the money goes to help continually improve the PS3/PSN. I'm gunna subscribe, eventually, if not this week. $50 for a year? Not even $5 a month. If you don't want it, don't buy it, but don't whine like lil brats about it. Man up and shut up.

I've got to disagree with you. While I understand them taking the games away after your sub ends, the details were still a little hazy before they were clarified today. I don't play multiplat games on PS3 and do have an XBL sub, but I thought the IF you could keep the games, I might look into it. I had an inkling that it might be too good to be true, but the possibility of free games was what kept PS+ (an otherwise unnecessary service to me) on my radar. Now that they've clarified the service, they've clarified my personal stance on buying it. I'm sure many others thought the same, and weren't just doing the usual I'm-a-gamer-and-entitled-to-everything-free thing.

So basicaly, this is sony's digital Sam's Club? But instead of an actual selection, you get what they decide to give you? Maybe it'll turn into something a little more "worth while", but as of now, i'm not investing a dime.

How often do you play a game past the first month anyways? I loved me some Critter Crunch, Trash Panic, Fat Princess, and PixelJunk Monsters... But they really haven't been played since the initial two weeks of having them.

I might try it out for 3 months just to see what it's like. Free games is always welcomed in my book. But if PSN+ is supported like Qore (which to say was piss poor) then this will be a disastrous flash-in-the-pan. My full yearly subscription will be readily available once enough incentives are in place for me to give that much money away.

Cross chat is VERY convenient. I have a 360 also and recently got to use it for the first time. Don't think I can emphasis enough how convenient it is. Why PS3 never had it is way beyond me. I do buy DLC depending on the game, so a discount would be nice. But it seems like i'd only be buying the discounts than anything else. Plus, i'm one of the 40gb people, whose HDD is rarely never full. I've been putting off upgrading it, but until I do that, PSN+ is pretty useless to me. If it had the content worth clearing the space and the 50 bucks, i'll get it. So far it's a so-go.
