What, as like a news show or something?

I could go for that.

@Mr Khan
i dont think its a news show, theres already enough of that.

Xplay, Electric Playground, etc

i think it will be something like the Tester, or maybe a documentary style show. its all just theories though, it could very well be a news show

OMG, it's like the Four Horsemen of Mediocrity have banded together to create the most stereotypical show in the history of the human race!

Just kidding, if done properly, I would rather have the mainstream learn about games from actual gamers than The Early Show... *shudder*

As long as the host isn't a try hard, retro Nintendo shirt wearing, "dude, bra" spouting, way too hyped up, ass kissing, teleprompter reading, never played a game in his life, douche nozzle that thinks he's totally relating to the every-man out there.

The host can make or break a show about gaming.

@Uncle Jesse Meh, they'll find some attractive model-type to read a script.

I seriously doubt they'd go out of their way to use actual gamers.

I hope it's more like A Life Well Wasted, which is a much more cultured look at gaming.

@Uncle Jesse Agreed 100%. You can tell when a person actually loves gaming and when they're just trying to act "psyched" or "stoked" or "pumped" for game x, y, and z because they were paid to.

I think you're the most correct. It'll be another Olivia Munn/Jessica Chobot/That Kristin dummy from that Cheat show on G4. ZZZZzzzzzzz

i was as at the engadget show when Kudo Tsunoda was demonstrating the Kinect... the guy seems like a poseur. His behavior and his wardrobe seemed like he was trying too hard to be hip and urban (mind you he's a middle-aged white guy.)

If this show has any kind of influence from this guy or (god forbid) he's a permanent host, then count me out.

As long as they are not trying to remake the Ben Chaplin/Samantha Janus sitcom I don't care, because it will probably be laughably out of touch with reality.

I'd definitely watch a prime time games related show. G4 requires a higher subscription level with my cable provider than I want to pay, so it's be nice to get some updates, interviews & previews outside of my computer desk once in awhile.

That's just the thing. G4 has one demographic to hit, and they consistently miss by miles.

I have little faith that NBC will do any better.

I have zero confidence in NBC pulling this off honorably. If videogame networks like G4 couldn't do it right, NBC certainly won't have the capability. The most videogame centric show they have is Late Night w/ Jimmy Fallon, and that one fails soooo hard when it tries to do games.

There has only been one gaming TV show that really delivered the goods, and that was the short lived VideoGaiden on BBC Scotland.

There's a bunch of clips on YouTube and a few mirrors of the entire series around the web. Well worth checking out if you want to see video game television done right, and absolutely required viewing if you're making a show yourself.

actually, Judgement Day (Tommy Tollerico and the other dude) was a damm good show. Very imformative.

it led me picking up quite a few games, i otherwise would've passed on.

Lets not do this. Just because the gaming industry is generating alot of revenue, lets not try to pull some of that revenue into other forms of media (t.v. & film)

It just doesnt work out that way. When are they gonna understand this???

Well, MSNBC did a Video Game documentary called "Game On". Maybe this is an extension/series based off that documentary.

I'm pretty sure that MSNBC is affliated with NBC. I think it's there all news network or something.

I can't see this show being on NBC, although it does sound like something they might air on one of their cable networks.
