Is the frame rate really as bad as it is in the trailer?

I can see what they are trying to do here with the style. I love dark humor and mental stuff. Shame it didn't come together right in the full game.

It is not a bad framerate. That is what all the grickle cartoons are like. Please inform yourself before slandering like that.

Whoa, a bad Telltale game? I never thought I'd see the day.

From the review it sounds like the game won't reach the needs of point-and-click gamers or puzzle gamers. Too bad; I was really hoping this would be amazing.

@Acosta02

To be honest, as of yet I haven't been impressed with anything original from them. Sam & Max didn't feel good to me, and the "new" Monkey Island suffered from a lot of the same problems I had with Sam & Max....

All that said, their remake of Monkey Island 1 was phenomenal, and I'm anxiously awaiting part 2.

@Xoonaka

Telltale didn't do the Special Edition remake of Monkey Island 1 or 2.

@Xoonaka Telltale didn't remake MI 1 or 2, Lucasarts did.

@Fausk That's what I get for responding to a comment about half an hour after I've opened the page. /facepalm

..hrm.. I guess I just assumed from the similar art stylings and the same voice actors it was done by the same teams. Wow, learn something new everyday...

...in that case, in all my experiences with Telltale, I haven't liked their products.

Yeah I'd have to agree with this. While I love the franchises Telltale goes after, and their stick-to-it'ness with the adventure game genre, I've still had a real hard time enjoying their games

Sounds less like puzzles and more like mini-games. Thats too bad. Is that a niche market maybe?

Well I was expecting their more 'experimental' releases (of which this is the first) to be of lesser quality anyway.

Pretty disappointed to hear that the game is (probably) pretty medioce, but that was a really, brilliant, inspired review. Love the brett ratner trying to make a david lynch movie analogy. Terrific writing in a genre you don't see it in often enough.

That's a shame. I was very intrigued by the trailer, shoddy frame-rate and all.

Now I'm a sad panda :(

Having read the review, I'm disappointed. However, I'm still going to try it because maybe, just maybe, I'll like it more. I've never played Layton - perhaps my ignorance will also be my strength.
