And people talk about "milking"...This title already has more games than Halo.

@(Unverified) Incorrect. Yakuza has Yakuza 1-4 + the PSP game. Halo has Halo 1-3, Wars, ODST, and Reach.

@Cleric I wasn't aware of that one, but that just means it has an equal number of games, not more. So my statement is still true. :P

@Faceless Troll

You also missed out the one they're making. Yakuza - 6 games in 6 years, Halo - 6 games in 9 years. Looks like yakuza won the milkage contest.

How about doing the English language the same time as japanese one, Sega? No you won't do that. That would be a smart idea, we'll just have to wait a year after the release date.

Huh, that could be fun. Majima rules.

I am all for this, IF we get it. With 4 coming out, Kenzan is out of the picture, and makes me assume anything that's not the main title isn't going to be supported.

Which is sad, I'd buy a PSP for Black Panther, and I'd definitely buy this since Majima is my favorite character.

"even die-hard Yakuza fans are going to grow weary of the series"

Not before us Mario fans do!

Majima is my favorite character from Yakuza. He's a cool side character, but he's kind of strange to have his own game.

But I'll be looking forward to it.

I finally got to play Yakuza 3 and I liked it. Kinda not surprised that they're making another 1.

And the series does huge in JP so why not? As long as the series doesn't go down hill like some franchises. It should be ok.

Goro is hilarious. Finally got around to playing yakuza 3 last night and the rooftop scene in chapter 2 was great.

I own almost all the games (including Kenzan, excluding Yakuza 4) and would 100% recommend them all. Jumping into the third one is perfectly fine and I'd recommend it.

@Yan

Keep wanting to buy Kenzan, but that language barrier. Even with a translation guide I don't think I could look past it.

Jumping in at part 3 is very easy. There's enough ancillary material there to pretty much catch up on the entire series in an hour or two. I've frankly never even played part one or two and already consider myself a die-hard Yakuza fan. I fell head over heels in love with 3; it wasn't at all the kind of game I expected it to be (especially from the demo).

My PSN ID is: johnnynumber5

Feel free to add me. In terms of Yakuza, I own the main series games of Yakuza 1, 2 & 3. You only need to buy Yakuza 3 because it has these memoir segments where you can watch or read up about all the happenings in the previous two entries. Personally, I akin it like a pseudo Japanese version of GTA ... if that makes sense. There is a lot of dialogue and it's all subtitled in Yakuza 3 so thats kind of one of those small caveats. I love the series, always have, it's like the spiritual successor in a lot of ways to Shenmue.

I would definitely play 2 before 3 if possible. It's probably okay to skip the first one.

3 was my first game in the series. I watched the included retrospectives on 1 and 2, and the story ended up being my favorite part of the game! I thought all the wierd stuff like arcade games, fishing, golf etc. would make it a fun time waster- but the story is what really got me!

So long as they maintain or improve the level of quality in Yakuza games I'll keep buying them.

Always wondered if the gameplay videos do this game justice. I've wanted to get into the series but every time I see vids of it in action I start wondering how long I could be content doing random encounter battles
