I wonder what's taking so long for the beta on 360.

Is it MS's fault or EA's fault?

@MLC Why does it have to be anyone's fault? Why can't it just be an unfortunate series of events?

@MLC I'd say from the issues the PS3 was having , i.e. system crashes, it is truly Beta code. MS probably requires the code to be more reliable and "Demo" like and less beta like

@Thumpthis

They patched the freezing. I hadn't froze since they patched it up. But, problems should be expected as it is a beta / test version not final code. They do these to get feedback on all the problems. But, the freezing is done and over at least because that was annoying.

Probably the same freezing issue the PS3 version had before the patch. I have no problem being very vocal about my admiration for this game. :ahem: this is the best / most fun multiplayer fps I've ever played. It's like mw2 and bfbc2 had a baby. There are things that need to be fixed I.E. bullet lag, grenade range, knife range, stopping power etc ... but the thing I really love most is that you truly can't camp in one spot as you will be found and killed.

I absolutely love this game and I'm not even that good at it.

@Johnnynumber5 is powered by cell So it doesn't feel like it should've been a DLC expansion for BFBC2?

I love BFBC2, and I'm afraid that MoH's multiplayer was not going to feel like a stand alone product and more like it should've been DLC for BFBC2.

How does the respawning work in team assault versus mission?

@ii Stryker

Feels completely different when compared to BFBC2. The way it respanws in the team deathmatch mode is basically whatever spot on the map your team is holding, it'll respawn you there. In the mission mode you respawn behind enemy lines close to the nearest objective or I believe you can respawn on a squad mate.

It has that battlefield look to it in some ways but it certainly doesn't feel like battlefield. Everything from the upgrade tree to the character classes feels completely unique. You can play team deathmatch without vehicles or I'm assuming with vehicles when the full game launches. Similarly to MW2 it has it's own rewards as in killstreak rewards like a UAV, Match ammo, mortar strike, rocket strike etc ... you have to sort of expose yourself to do the various strikes unlike MW2 which balances it out a little for me. Also, you can't camp because every part of the map is accessible by multiple avenues.

In my opinion it just feels perfect. As I mentioned it has some balancing issues but it feels like it plays faster than Battlefield and more run and gun type of shooter. I didn't at all get the impression that I was playing a modified version of Battlefield, more like something new that took traits from both battlefield bad co and modern warfare and combined them. There are destructible things in the environment but not everything is destructible and it really punishes people who don't stay on the move. You also can't pick up weapons or anything from a fallen opponent.

I don't know ... it's just feels really good to play and totally natural.

It still sucks you have to preorder the game in order to play in the beta. What's the point?

@ysdarkfact

To generate interest. They'll probably do an open beta or demo closer to launch.

@ysdarkfact

Well, unlike a demo, the main point of a beta isn't really to let people try it before they buy it. It's more about testing, and people who care enough to preorder it are probably more likely to care enough to send in info about bugs and whatnot. It can also be an incentive to preorder.

Absolutely. I've been playing it every night. In my opinion it's more like modern warfare and battlefield had a baby opposed to a straight up cod clone. Just my opinion on the matter but it feels so perfect to play. It's the most fun I've ever had in an online shooter ... even more than horde mode in gears.

I agree, it's been a blast so far. There are obviously issues that need to be corrected, but for a beta with only two modes and two maps (one map/mode), I find myself coming back to it everyday. Maybe once it's released retail I might get tired of these maps...

They must need more time to work on the facial hair physics engine. They wouldn't want to insult the beard by making the simulation of it sub-par.

I was going to pre-order this, then I saw the price. $69.99 for a game? forget that (same reason I'm not buying Crackdown 2). In both games cases, I'll be waiting for a price drop to a more reasonable, sub-$50 price point.

Funny thing is, I was going to avoid the new COD:Black Ops like the plague due to the ridiculous DLC price points, but it's releasing at a more reasonable $59.99 - maybe it's worth some re-consideration. I can just skip the DLC like I have with Modern Warfare 2.

(side note - the prices are in Canadian)

(second side note - Happy Canada Day)

I didn't preorder anything and got invited to the beta from EA a couple of days ago, to my surprise.

Your person moves like it's from BFBC2, but the perspective and shooting and score tallying looks and feels just like MW2.

For coming up with a concept, I wouldn't bet against having the best of both worlds, but in practice...it just feels completely unoriginal. There's no reason why I would buy this over Black Ops this fall..at least from my impressions of the beta.

@Gco

I would prefer to buy/play games from a company that doesn't verbally and financially abuse their customers.

The fact that MoH is more fun than CoD (so far) is just a bonus.
