Do you think Treyarch experiences any shame promoting their Black Ops skins on top of a game engine they had no part in creating? I guess when satan himself is lining your pockets shame doesn't exist.

Did Rocksteady feel shame when showing of Arkham Asylum? No.
Did Bioware feel shame when showing off Mass Effect 2? No.
Did Bethesda feel shame when showing off Fallout 3? No.
All of these games used engines that the devs didn't actually create for themselves. So, to answer your question...

Does Treyarch feel shame when showing off Black Ops? Probably not.

Treyarch makes good games. Their multiplayer experience is so much more solid than IW. They support their games after release. I just hope we have guns with recoil and sway again.

The difference is that the parent companies of Rocksteady, Bioware, and Bethesda did not steal millions of dollars from the makers of the engine technology, and in fact actually paid for use of the engines.

THANK YOU!

Unreal openly sold their engine. Treyarch is like that brother who waits for his brother to die and then proceeds to move in on his widowed wife, and then claims to have been there for her all her life.

So now you're blaming Treyarch for their publisher's issues? Jesus, give them a break already.

do you think anyone at activision feels shame?

do you think the neversoft guys feel bad for buttraping the tony hawk franchise for so long that its own fans hate it?

do you think the guitar hero guys feel any shame for milking their franchise so hard that its own fans don't give a shit anymore?

no, the business model at Activision is buy a franchise, milk it to its death, and repeat. they will buy successful franchises and milk them, stop activision's shitty business model by not supporting them. even if you like those games, they WILL be milked until you hate the franchise. its just business

yes I'm sure your refusal to buy it is really going to matter to a franchise that just sold $310 million in the first 24 hours of release

Not going to happen. I won't be buying this either but I've found that its best to not say anything because even if you're right (which in this case I agree with you) will get loads of hate mail and comment-invisibility.
I got bored of CoD4 in about 2 months and haven't seen anything new in any of its successors, so just ignored them and enjoyed Gears.

I look at that main shot at the top of the article and all I see is Ben Stiller from Tropic Thunder.

Actually, I hadn't read that anywhere, but makes sense it would be frequented material, I apologize for raping your eyes with my words that I clearly forced you to read.

Don't be a troll.

Personally, i think that Treyarch is one of the better developers in the FPS industry. That and DICE is starting to rise. This is a buy for me, cause MW2 was a monstrosity in the MP.

Obviously we have to wait and see how the game actually turns out, but my bet is that it'll be a good solid game. Unlike IW, Treyarch at least makes the effort to listen to fans' concerns... so I doubt we're going to have the glitchy exploitative mess that was MW2's multiplayer. And thank god it's in an underused time period... there are way too many current/modern shooters out there that all look the same.
