EVO fighting game tournament to be televised

Want to see insane fighting game skills on display? The annual EVO fighting game tournament promises to be full of amazing comebacks, seemingly endless combos and furious Hadoken duels -- and you'll be able to watch it both online and on TV. Capcom announced that G4 will stream coverage of the event on its website through the whole July 9-11 tournament, and will also run a special EVO edition of X-play on July 20. If they have any sense, Pringles will be sponsoring the broadcast.

If you'd prefer to watch the world's best fighting game players vie for golden FightSticks firsthand, you can head to Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and get a chance to play the first public demo of Marvel vs. Capcom 3!

Melty Blood is nice, but very very disappointed to not see BlazBlue (or even GG) yet again. No interest in any of the other fighters, I like to see more than fireball spam and turtling when I watch fighting games.

It's about time they got some sense and started showing something other than Cops and Cheaters (I hate those shows so much!!!!) G4 had such great potential with Tech talk and a few shows and it just seems to be wasted but maybe there's hope yet. I'd like to see an entire show dedicated to the Fighting game scene but I'm just dreaming now aren't lol. Come on G4 wake up and take advantage of the potential and stop airing stupid shows nobody wants to see. Hmm how about an Engadget show?!! I'd watch who's with me??

Em I'd watch the Joystiq show too ;) lol Either way G4 needs to do some serious reprogramming and focus on it's core group and not the Cop's and Cheaters fans yuck! Take that ish to MTV or Fox, I'm so sick of seeing it . Anyway Yay for G4 airing Evo 2010 this is huge for the fighting game scene and G4, it should be very entertaining even for casual players. I went last year and the hype was amazing and this year promises to be even better even before G4 showed any support, but it doesn't hurt either.

I cannot wait. This is a very big step for EVO. From last year's stream to now being on a big network, the fighting game scene is looking much brighter. HYPE!!!

I know game system specs over car specs. I know how well Justin Wong did last year, versus Lebron James. And, I watch recaps of fighting game tournaments instead of sports games.

So, this is my Super Bowl.
