Two Crackdown 2 DLC packs teased
25
We might not have loved Crackdown 2 as much as anticipated, but we're glad to see that's not stopping developer Ruffian Games from supporting the game post-launch with downloadable content. Speaking to MTV Multiplayer, producer James Cope revealed two (tentatively titled) packs already planned for release: "The Toy Box" and "Deluge." According to Cope, The Toy Box will be available first and features "new gadgets and vehicles," as well as opening up Pacific City in the same way that the first game's "Keys to the City" mode did.
Next will be the Deluge pack, which will contain "new game modes to expand the play" -- Cope says the team at Ruffian is aiming for "a completely new way to play the game you've already got." No release prices or dates were given for the DLC add-ons, though, presumably Crackdown 2 owners are still plenty occupied collecting all of them orbs. It's a hunger that can't be satisfied, folks!

In before..
Maybe they should have spent less time on DLC and more time creating a true sequel that isn't just an expansion pack!
Because you know it'll be said!
I picked it up yesterday though, and I love it so far. Orb Collecting is strangely addictive. (It's addictive, right? Not addicting? Hrm.)
My only gripe is that whoever thought that they should give enemies rapid-fire homing rocket launchers should be shot.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze The enemies was the homing rockets were in the first too and made rooftop races really irritating.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze are you kidding me? The rockets are epic. When I was capture ing a tactical at Vergotten Apartments, I jumped and the homing rockets flew under me slowy sending me sky high.

I noticed this as I was looking through the avatar awards and it mentioned some that can only be obtained through the add-ons. I was just wondering what it was referring to.

So if the sequel just felt like an DLC expansion pack, will this DLC make Crackdown 2 feel like a sequel?

I'm glad mine shipped before the reviews came in, because it may have caused me to cancel my order. This game is still a freaking blast despite the lack of innovation.

What nobody noticed the fact that half of the avatar awards are unlocked only by purchasing DLC named "Toy Box and Deluge?" Seriously?

@Lord Moon Key's To The City for Crackdown 1 was free...
so I'm sure it'll also be free as well for Crackdown 2
Also Where's the info that the 2nd dlc will be price :D
just because you think it's going to be priced doesn't mean in the end it will be...

Still leaves the question open: how much?

Already boasting "a completely new way to play the game you've already got" after the game has been out less than a day. What does this say about their confidence in the current way to play?

The game JUST came out yesterday. How can they talk about DLC already?!

I like to hear that a developer wants to extend the play time of the game I just bought. Hearing solid plans for DLC on day 1 (or 2, whatever) encourages me to keep playing because I'm assured more content, if I want it.
I hate finishing a game, starving for more, and then DLC plans are only even announced 3 months after I've been done with the game.

This game is a blast. While I can't say the reviews were overly critical, some of us are simply looking for more of what was great the first go around. And so far, Crackdown 2 has completely delivered.
DLC is a welcome surprise.

I totally agree. This game is a blast if you liked the first at all. Running around the city with three buddies blowing everything up and hunting orbs is a lot of fun. Played about 8 hours yesterday and collected around 350 orbs and didn't want to stop.
Also... the wingsuit is freaking awesome if you know how to use it.

$2 says this will cost at least $10 and will be an unlocker file for stuff already in the disc.

@Shiaoran Well, if you're right then it's only going to cost YOU $8 ;)

@Shiaoran Oh yeah? Well, $4 says it'll be knocked down to $5 as a deal of the week inside of a year.
(Yeah baby, I'm getting it for a BUCK! So THERE!)
