Video is buffering, but I dont think there are any songs that Activision can pull out that convince me to spend money on this over RB3. Maybe on discount a year after release, but lets see what they are offering.

Well thank god they finally did something about re-vamping the visual style and the animation. I honestly think its a bit too late now though, and it could use a better virtual 'director' during the vocal solos instead of focusing on long shots and the guitarists.., Rock Band has always been like an experience where as ever since harmonix moved on to do rock band this has always been and seemed like a cut and paste job, maybe this time will be different.., but like the one gentleman said why would i buy this over RB3 and have keyboards? ESPECIALLY after Activision screwed so many of us with ABSOLUTELY NO SUPPORT ON DJ HERO #1.., SELL US 120~200 packages and gave us shit for DLC.., I ACED the game in 3 days.., went renegade too. And after the Infinity Ward fiasco.., some of my boys worked in that Dev House.., dont get me started. When this game is used and under $20 I'll decide to cop it then.

Is it just my imagination or do the GH games always tend to come out a month before the RB games? Odd, that.

I'm getting tired of this. Return to guitars only and fix the dumb windows already holy shit. A combination of GHII and GHIII would have been perfection.

All of you guys are just being stupid. This video shows that awesome things are in store for this game. All of these songs are great. Espically Bohemian Rhapsody and Uprising. So what if Activision screwed with some of us. They are making it right and doing a great job. I am so sick of all you losers pissing all over this game just because of Activision making bat choice. If you don't like the songs, don't complain and don't buy the game. It is just that simple.

It's not that they just made a, um, bat choice, it's that they CONTINUOUSLY and PURPOSELY make bat choices. Well, good choices for them, most of these decisions translate into a higher profit/song ratio (especially since they keep reusing songs multiple times and no one seems to care).
But dude, you do realize that Bohemian Rhapsody will be a much better experience on RB3 than in this game, right? You'll be able to play along on a REAL guitar. On REAL keyboards. You and two friends can sing each sing a separate vocal line (if you've never done harmony mode in the beatles or GD:RB, you don't know what you're missing, it's EXTREMELY fun).
I'm not trying to bash Guitar Hero, in fact, I think it's a good thing that it's being taken in a different direction than Rock Band. But with the feature set of RB3 and the lackluster offering of GH DLC, the winner (at least for this year) is clear.

@edisinsane Dude, you may have a point. But, I can't afford all the new Rock Band 3 instruments. Even though RB3 has harmonies, it does not help me, I don't even have a microphone. But Rock Band has a much better DLC selection than Guitar Hero, I have never owned a console Rock Band Game. My first will be Rock Band 3 and I am looking forward to it, but I said Bohemian Rhapsody looks cooler on GHWOR because of what the characters do, it just looks so cool. Even though Rock Band teaches you real instruments and I may get the cymbals to play Pro Mode on drums, but all I currently plan to get is the Guitar Bundle for Guitar Hero so I will have 2 guitars and 1 drumset, a microphone, and just the RB3 disk.

I laughed when they showed 3 characters harmonizing Bohemian Rhapsody, yet only one person is allowed to sing in the game.
Oh Activision. Your game isn't even out yet and it's already obsolete.

If they had put "Sultans of Swing" instead of "Money for Nothing" I would have had to purchase this game.

@Bananarama Sultans of Swing is on Guitar Hero 5. So that is the reason it is not on GH6.

Sounds solid so far. Personally I think my favorite setlist of any of these games so far has been Guitar Hero 5. It was just such a nice mix of stuff, even though most people seem to think it was "teh suk" for not being 84 number 1 hits.
I think what I hate most about these games is EVERY time a setlist is revealed leading up to the release of the game, it brings to the surface every annoying little worm who thinks their taste is the end all be all of music. Blaaaaarg.

Tis rather tempting so far (well... kind of), but it's gonna have to temp me a whole lot harder if it wants to steal a purchase away from RB3!

Yeah, I took notice of the NIN as well, but then remembered that there are two NIN track packs available for Rock Band, one containing "The Perfect Drug."
So, yeah.

Looks like they put time and some actual effort into it since they didn't put out 12 titles this year, but I'm way too invested in Rock Band. I'll buy this when it hits the cheap bin, I got screwed on GH5 AND World Tour with the atrocious matchmaking that didn't actually make any sort of matches.

Hey guys, lets down-vote anyone who says anything good about Guitar Hero and up-vote everyone who says it sucks! Then, we can all go learn to play our real plastic guitars and our real plastic keyboards together!
I miss the days when guitar hero was just a fun video game. Nothing more. The sad part is is that this game is shaping up to be like that, but everyone is too wrapped up in pretending to be a musician to see that this game will be like the awesome video game we all used to like.

I kinda feel bad for them. They're clearly trying REALLY hard on this one.
The set list is good, sure -- but so is Rock Band's. In this iteration it looks like Rock Band might just hands-down beat it in all gameplay categories, and I really much prefer the feel of Rock Band as well as Harmonix's note tracks.
Of course, GH might still sell better. The name alone sells a lot of units.
Is there something that Guitar Hero LoR has that RB3 doesn't? If there is, I must have missed it.

Activision disbanded half of Neversoft and this is going to be Neversoft's last Guitar Hero game. They have pretty much announced that most of this setlist is going to be fanservice. I really feel bad for these guys. Activision ordered more and more GH games, and because of that Neversoft really didn't get to use all of their potential.
And worst of all, Neversoft always gets bashed for Guitar Hero alongside Activision, when really, Neversoft could never control how many games released a year, song licensing, etc. You know how all of the music from full band games prior to GH5 that aren't available yet? Well, blame Activision, not Neversoft. Neversoft actually has it all charted and ready to go. Activision just isn't negotiating with the record companies.
All in all,
Rock Band 3 is going to be the best Music Simulation game this year.
GH:WoR is going to be the best Arcade-style music game this year.
Both games are going in entirely opposite directions, and to be honest, that is fine with me.

@Hafk Isn't Neversoft the same guys that ran Tony Hawk into the ground? Not like they aren't used to a yearly schedule.
