Borderlands GOTY edition teased by GameStop strategy guide listing

GameStop's "Borderlands GOTY Official Strategy Guide" listing would appear to be the unofficial harbinger of a "Game of the Year" edition for Gearbox's loot-whoring shooter, Borderlands. The book currently has a September 9, 2010, release date and we'd expect it to cover the DLC expansions "The Secret Armory of General Knoxx," "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot" and "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned."

Take-Two CEO Ben Feder stated earlier this year the publisher would "continue to support" the successful title with more DLC. We've contacted Gearbox and 2K Games for more information and will update if they send us a claptrap with more details.

WHAAAAAAT. I was so happy reading the message and then I read this comment and see that there is no PS3 version. I've been holding off buying this game because I knew this would happen, but I've only a PS3 :[

Look at the Platforms, no mention of PS3

The main info (i.e. a Game Of The Year Edition) is the most credible part of a leakage. The details are not so. I believe they'll be a PS3 version.

Yeah, I'd wait for an official announcement. This looks like it was leaked via a data entry error anyway.

Not really worth it as its gonna only include the three DLC packs that are out. I was lucky enough to get the game for $26 from Amazon a few days ago and just got The Island of Dr. Ned. Still its a good deal at $60 for those who have yet to buy the game. I heard there's a fourth DLC coming out so I wonder if they would include it?

I've been waiting for this to be announced. I like having my DLC on disc.

This is only good if they release more DLC. They have basically abandoned the player base...

Are you serious? You know this is their first truly in-house developed game right? I'd say they have done a fantastic job with the DLC. They are a smaller studio and taking on a lot of projects at once right now. This /is/ a studio that generally handles ports, or sequels the original developers don't have time to work on.

So in summation, go die in a fire or make your own damn content.

Hmm currently have all the cheevos even for all three DLC's, bring on some more Pandora!

I haven't bought any of the dlc, I was waiting for this to come out so i could get them all for cheaper.

Yep, exactly what I've been waiting for, no one should be surprised by this news.

That explains that Amazon sale the other day. They're trying to get rid of non-GOTY to make room. I've gotta sell this quick while it's still got value :)

@All Night Diner Seriously, Borderlands wouldn't even break into the *long* list of possible GotY-2009. They should have have named it Gold Edition like they use to.

NOW it comes? FML, I bought Borderlands like a month and half ago... week later it went to $40.. now a GOTY edition.

While you're at it, ask them if they're ever going to bother fixing the PC version's many problems or if we have to buy a GOTY edition first?

This is what I've been waiting for but I'm a bit skeptical because what if there's going to be more DLC?

It was REALLY hard for me avoiding the Steam sale for Borderlands + 3 DLC at ~$20.

I'm waiting for the 360 version because a couple of my friends play it on that and not the PC.

I bought 2/3 of the DLC. Mad Moxxi just didn't seem worth it. Either way, if you don't own Borderlands yet, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU... and three of your friends. Great game.

A wise choice indeed, Mad Moxxi is not worth a damn, but the awesomenessnessnessness of the other two more than makes up for Mad Moxxi's shortcomings. Everyone and their three friends need this game nao.

I thought there was another DLC coming? I guess we will have to pay for that one, since it won't be included in this one.

Like we didn't see this coming... *yawn* Most of us have all the DLC anyway...

I'd say Borderlands was pretty easily my GOTY 2009. Some of the most fun I've ever had with a co-op game.

They REALLY need to fix the entire invite issue. You can't create private games, and you can't invite friends because it shows that they're offline when they're really not. Sucks.
