Sega defeats confusion over Vanquish release date: Oct. 19 in North America

The European version of Vanquish is no longer alone in having an official release date. Sega of America announced that Shinji Mikami's new shooter will ship to North American stores on October 19. Just in time for Halloween -- look out for the inevitable trend of homemade, spark-spewing robot suits at this year's parties.

Pre-ordering the game at GameStop will allow you to acquire a pack of three in-game guns: the Boost Machinegun, the Anti Armor Pistol and the Laser Cannon (the same three being used for a pre-order promotion with the European release). Enjoy glamour shots of these weapons being fired at things and/or people in our gallery.

YESSSSS!!!!!!!! This and New Vegas will make the latter half of the year awesome for me.

I love that they eschewed Multiplayer in favor of Single Player for this one. So very excited!

Maybe its just the lazors but this game is starting to look really good to me.

Also glad to see that all 3 pre-order guns come together. While I don't like pre-order bonuses, I REALLY don't like when they split them up so that it's impossible to get all of them.

Pleasantly surprised by this release date. I was thinking this was a Q1 2011 release. Really looking forward to playing this game!

Sweet, hoping for a demo before release because this will most likely be a buy for me.

So they're releasing this everywhere less than a year after their last game, the phenomenal Bayonetta, first came out? Wait, strike that, they also released a DS game in between? And it's a brand new IP, and not some sequel? And they're building it up on PS3, which they haven't done before? And it looks like it's fast-paced and kicks ass?

My my... color me impressed. Is this even physically possible?

This was one of the more amazing games I saw at E3 this year.., talk about cover system and tacticality (i know its not a word) done right.., cant wait cant wait cant wait. Hopefully I can get it comped haha w00tXD

I'll probably pre-order this, since I will almost certainly be getting this game.

Platinum Games is an incredible studio. 3rd person shooter, platformer, hack-n-slash, and more all from the same studio. I wish most developers weren't so dead set on rebuilding the same legacy code for up to 10 years and actually branched out into new genres.

F$#king Lamestop exclusives is a trend that needs to DIE now! I've already got both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of this game pre-ordered at a superior retailer! Gah!

That lazor looks epic, but I don't plan on preordering this. Oh well.

This game is amazing. It took me about five seconds of play at E3 to be completely blown away.
