Remember when Rock Band weekly used to be somewhat exciting to look out for? Harmonix has been pretty disappointing with their DLC lately. Hopefully they're saving all the good stuff for RB3.

@mywhitenoise CCR 12-pack last week was pretty epic.

I was going to mention CCR, but one good pack, out of like 2 or 3 months of mainly crap (we had some cool songs from Phoenix, Spoon, and Deftones as well), is still a pretty crappy amount of DLC lately.

"The Vines also make their debut next week, with five tracks from the group's 2006 album, Vision Valley."

None of those five tracks are from Vision Valley. Three are from their latest, Melodia, and the other two are from Winning Days and Highly Evolved.

@deepfriedmario

I was afraid that they would take songs from Melodia. I like the Vines and their first three albums, but I just can't get into Melodia.

@Urchin80 I haven't really delved into the Melodia album (same goes with Vision Valley) but I had a listen to "Get Out" today and, although it didn't compare to anything from their first two albums, it wasn't too bad and, from memory, "He's a Rocker" wasn't that shabby either. Although with that said, Highly Evolved and Winning Days are both terrific albums back to back.

Why so much hate on The Vines? I actually liked Ride and Get Free, they kinda remind me of The White Stripes mixed with They Might Be Giants

@(Unverified) Never heard of either group. I'll give them a listen and see if it's something I want to grab. I'm still digging the CCR pack though, so even if it doesn't pan out with these guys, I've got some new stuff to play with... :-)

Would you believe they started out as a Nirvana cover band?

Because, um, they did.

This would have been an OK week (at best) had they included GET FREE. The entire melodia album sucks monkey balls and sounds like some weird mash between really bad british beatles pop sound alikes and the Hive. PLEASE MORE MUSE, BUSH, GOO GOO DOLLS and for crying out loud please some more King of Leon
