Buy Modern Warfare 2 bundle from Direct2Drive, get Modern Warfare free
25
Digital distributor Direct2Drive is offering a puzzling offer until August 6: purchase the Modern Warfare 2 bundle (which includes the game and both map packs) for $89.99, and get the original Modern Warfare for free.
We know this deal likely brings a couple of questions to mind, the most burning of which being: if someone is buying Modern Warfare 2, isn't it reasonable to assume that they've already purchased and played the original? Of course, this enigma is unraveled when you realize the hypothetical person purchasing the bundle is actually a time traveler, who played the first game in the future, but hasn't actually purchased it yet. Also, shut up.

Some random person on my friends list gave me Modern Warfare 2 for free. I have no idea why.

I had more to that. And I was going to say, maybe he just thought the game was a giant waste of money (he gave me the whole account :\)

He's saying that if you consider MW1 to be $30 and MW2 to be $60, then that takes care of the $90 price tag which leave the map packs to be "free"

@BrianH :: Continually spawning in front of the person that just killed me only to be killed again (facing wrong way, ISP lag are my excuses) just pissed me off so much in Modern Warfare 1, which I just played multiplayer in for the first time roughly 20minutes ago.

not only are all the people who made that game being screwed by activision but everyone who pays money for that game is going to be plagued by lag, bugs and horrible spawns.
just buy BFBC2

Unfortunately, I found Steam's CoD pack (CoD, UO, CoD2, CoD4, WaW) to be a much better deal for $30 on top of buying MW2 as well. Same price, more games. Granted, not all of the multiplayer is still active, but that's a ton of great campaigns to play.

Better idea, buy COD4 for cheaper than this deal. Better game, less kids to deal with.
MW2's best maps can be found in COD4 as well.
