I'm glad they're rereleasing this. It was one of my favorite shmups, especially for the music. I remember the arcade emulator had a incredible amount of bass in it's music, don't think that's going to be the same though for the home release. Still going to be a day 1 purchase.

Awesome game. Gets mad hard as of level 2 though.

The music as mentioned above is truly awesome.
The 'select music' is one of my favourite game tracks.
This YT vid uses it (the video itself is of something different but the music is from Guwange select)

Maaaan, it'll be nice to fight that friggin' catspider again. That thing made some pretty disturbing noises. And also shot ALL THE BOOLET. As is typical of a Cave boss.

Did they ever release a non-limited edition Deathsmiles in the US? All I'm finding is the limited-edition one.

Again proving that the 360 is the de facto home of Shmups. Now, if they could somehow license Axelay, I would be the happiest kitty on the planet.

I have been in shmup heaven. News like this makes me know that I'll be staying here in it.

Why does Cave hate me/PSN? Happy for you xbla people. SoldnerX does not make up for this.

@soypancho

Neither does Gundemonium Recollection or Super Stardust HD or Gravity Crash....

Honestly, PSN has underrated shmups. XBLA just has Ikuraga, Triggerheart Exelica, and I think that's about it.

No it doesn't. Go play mushihimesama until you realize that dual stick shooters, while fun, are the Owen Wilson of shmups.

I love that Cave is taking the initiative to release it's titles over here; bullet hell games are fantastic and the only way they'll gain momentum is for a top-notch developer like Cave to take the risk and distribute in an un-tapped marketplace.

Better be 800 MS Points... because I want this game and refuse to pay more than that for Digital Only games. Too bad because I'd totally pay $40 for it if it was released on disc at retail.
