Yeah I only have one Dragon Quest game, the same one you do.
However, I do have a couple Dragon Warrior games for my GBC. Nostalgia: It means I have a had time calling the DW series the DQ series.

@Cleric Agreed. Nothing is more annoying then those stupid lizards.... At least in Pokemon you can save before going after something rare in case it runs away or dies.

Nope, metal slimes are harder than crystal lizards. All you have to do is shoot the lizards with arrows, or corner them then strike / slash down. I don't know about Chansey though.

I have to agree with Bjork. Crystal Lizards are easy unless you accidentally stumble onto them unknowingly. Arrows are the name of the game, and my thief can handle that with ease.
I actually haven't fought a metal slime though... I, sadly, haven't played any DQ/DW games... though I've been aware of them since I was little (I used to live back in the east, we had copies in our malls for the games.... in Japanese. Not too useful if you couldn't read Japanese).
I'll definitely try to give them a try soon. Just one of those things I never got around to.

Chanseys? Nah, they're hard, but the chance of getting one isn't hair-rippingly hard. Just frustrating.

My gf had a hard time with Mespirit, though.

But the most elusive thing for me in a video game? A Rathalos when I'm carrying a sword and shield and I have no traps. Dumb, but it happens.

Yeah, it looks like that, but for instance, Hello Kitty seems pretty simple too (slightly more complex than Slime but not much), and she's sold eighteen bazillion of pretty much every consumer product that the manufacturer could find a place to put a sticker on. I don't think that will happen for every 'pretty simple' design :) Same kind of deal with this.

(For the record, I don't really like the Slime design that much, but I'm not a Toriyama fan in general so it's probably just me.)
