Name this song, get your name in the Gran Turismo 5 credits
48
How would you like to get your name in the credits sequence of the most frequently delayed video game in the history of mankind? That'd be quite a claim for you to lord over your friends, wouldn't it? Achieving this level of fame is simple -- all you have to do is give a name to the English version of the song used in Gran Turismo 5's E3 trailer. If they pick yours, you'll get a mention in the "Special Thanks" portion of the credits.
You can listen to the song and check out the rules for the contest on the game's official site. You can also give the track's lyrics a once-over, though this might just serve to further confuse you. With vocals like "To your abusive ways // The cracks have opened up to the core // Is there anywhere to go from here now? // Sick with the lies consuming our souls," we're thinking about submitting the title "Holy Crap, This is the Most Depressing Racing Game Ever."

Is that supposed to be sarcasm? It was so out there and random that it has left me confused.

@ps3nogames You're right, bringing up A meme isn't really trolling, but bringing up THAT meme of "PS3 has no games hurr hurr hurr" is trolling.

Also,
Trolling: Trolling is trying to get a rise out of someone. Forcing them to respond to you, either through wise-crackery, posting incorrect information, asking blatantly stupid questions, or other foolishness. However, trolling statements are never true or are ever meant to be construed as such. Nearly all trolled statements are meant to be funny to some people, so it does have some social/entertainment value.

I was getting fed up of all the delays to the point I lost interest in GT5..........so how is it the moment I was given a date my excitement levels went through the roof and every bit of GT5 news is a blissful sweet melody?

Thriller is a good title for every song. The world should be called Thriller.

DNF = did not finish. It's not just delayed, it's never coming out. GT5 looks like it'll be worth the wait from the trailers. Car damage, cars that can actually get flipped, just about every single style of racing from dirt to street to nascar? with more than 800 cars and PSP connectivity? The time seems well spent.

The Song isnt really depressing at all. It's actually quite energetic and got my foot tapping. By the second play through I was singing along to the chorus. Most of the songs by Daiki Kasho have a similar style, alluding to the theme of the game without specifically saying "we made this song for a racing game", with the F-zero songs he did being the exception by directly referencing the characters themselves but still being very catchy if you can get past the corny Captain Falcon lyrics. In fact I think I'm going to sit down with a few of the past GT soundtracks right now and get in the right frame of mind to name this.

GT5 will be awesome, but it's only fair that the game forever take some flack for its massive delays.
It's caused more than a little annoyance out there and was completely not necessary. That there were actual launch dates broken means customers put hard earned cash down on preorders... probably taking a sale or two away from actually launched games.
GT5 will probably be the best game of its genre for many years. Probably until GT6.
But Polyphony should know this isn't the right way to go about things. If they had released GT5 as a near-launch title and worked all these innovations into GT6, I firmly believe everyone, especially PS3 gamers, would be better off.

We all know the game has been delayed, and yes Polyphony has only itself to blame. But this is the first time GT5's had a firm release date in this country. The references to Duke Nukem Forever (which, by the way, has been in development for over twice as long) can stop now. I wouldn't care if Joystiq praised or criticized the game - but come on, have an opinion and say something meaningful. It's pretty obvious they don't give a flying **** about the game in the first place, because they spend all their time making fun of the delays.

Agreed.
They should have locked down the feature set and quality and came out with a game near the ps3 release. And then another one about now.
That is what happened with Forza.

They don't spend all their time making fun of the delay, they just keep making fun of it as they point out other aspects.
This site has had a lot of great GT5 promotional material. Trailers, contests, news, etc. Generally, they do get a dig in about the delays. I think that's justified and funny. GT5 is going to be so great, but the delays were not necessary.
That you include so many stipulations about the prior broken release dates says it all. They others weren't regional or firm enough? I saw several release promises. I believed them and gave up some money. Not a big deal, but it probably cost a different dev thousands of sales, and it's extremely unprofessional of Polyphony. They can get away with it to large extent because their game will be amazing, but they still pay the penalty of being made fun off.
All in all, this isn't so bad. Is there a game delayed more than this that actually launched?
