So does that mean they will stop sullying Square Enix's good name and will start publishing their mediocre games under their own foul umbrella?

@Magetf Square-Enix's name has long been sullied ever since that crap company, Enix, merged with Squaresoft.

@Vorbis You know that wasn't the only thing Justin didn't like right?

Well, Justin, how does it feel to have single-handedly sunk an entire developer? You make me sick.

though they had some flaws, i thought the Resident Evil: chronicles games were great. What does this spell for any future games in the series?

@Super Nintendo Chalmers
Agreed - but there are three possibilities here:

1) Capcom presumably own the whole thing (engine and all) so they can get somebody else to do the third.

2) Capcom might have to make an *actual* Resident Evil game for Wii.

or, sadly, probably more realistically

3) The last one didn't sell that well so they'll just call it a day.

Well, there goes my hope for a Nier 2 and Drakengard 3. Then again, Nier's endings kinda made that impossible.

Sad that this happened, though. Their games weren't very well received by the media, but I they were some of my favorite games from this gen and last gen.

Oh, no. Not Cavia. Just think of all the amazing games we will miss without Cavia in this world. Oh, how I will miss their amazing works of endless, mind-numbing button mashing and forgettable visual design that exploited every possible use of the colors gray and brown.

@gatotsu911

Button mashing? I think Tak Fuji said it best:

If you continue to press the the (unintelligible) the xxx and the yyy and the xxx and the yyy again... you'll be sucked!

Guess that means they aren't the ones working on The Last Story.

Cavia was also the developer behind the Fate/tiger colosseum games, which, while not the best in terms of game design or execution, did have great atmosphere, character design, and killer limited editions. My PSP pouch came from one of them.

Nier was better than Final Fantasy XIII at least. Can we dissolve Square into Enix and just be done with them now?
