Halo: Reach Limited Edition package shots drop in

For nearly three months you've stared long and hard at the $150 Legendary Edition of Halo: Reach, but let's face it -- handing over $80 for the Limited Edition is a lot more palatable. Here's what you'll get:

I am not too impressed with the limited or legendary editions, sure on the outside they look good but your not really getting anything special. The halo 3 legendary edition is yet to be topped IMO and I will be saving myself alot of money by giving these a miss.

These LE kits are getting to be worse and worse deals. Some nice stuff? Sure. Worth $20? Nope. The case is nice but has no practical value, ditto with the "special armor" (cosmetic in-game DLC stuff barely counts). Basically, the only really cool thing is the Artifact Bag - but it's a story element, and Halo games at this point aren't exactly known for their stellar storytelling.
If they packed-in the soundtrack, that might make it worth it, but as is, meh.

@Aerothorn Agreed, I think this is almost identical to the halo wars L.E. content except halo wars was alot more colourful.

The artifact bag is expanded universe material, which has a significantly better story than the games. The journal is being written by Eric Nylund, the writer of the best Halo novels, so I'm definitely looking forward to what is inside.

Got Halo 3 Legendary for $40 a year after it came out. All retailers over-ordered them. I bet they'll over-order these too so I'll wait when they'll mark down the prices.

I've had this preordered on Amazon for a long time now. The journal sold me on it the instant I heard about it.

I agree with you bro.. Even if I don't like what you have to say(not saying I do or don't) I will only vote down spam and mindless jargon. A valid opinion is either left as is if not agreed upon by voter or voted up to show support for such opinion. "I do not agree with what you have to say but I will fight for your right to say it"

"Halo: Reach Limited Edition package shots drop in"?
Where did it drop from? This isn't ODST. You're punning off the wrong game!

@PersonOfSorts In the Halo Reach novel, the Spartan 2s drop out of orbit sans drop pod, so they were sorta like DOUBLE ODSTs.

It's nice, but I think I'm going to have to pass. I was really hoping for a making-of DVD, but this doesn't seem to include one.

I remember the halo 3 special edition had such horrible disk holders that the box actually cracked my game disk around the inside ring, I really hope this one is better.

I've bought the most-expensive editions of past Halo games, but I am probably just going to get the standard edition for Reach. Bungie sorta forgot the most important part of a limited edition game, the 'Making of' DVD.

I got burned by the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. I'll pass on this, especially since I won't ever play as an Elite anyway. The Legendary Edition of Reach is even worse because it includes a "flaming helmet" for your Spartan. Might as well just have a huge target on yourself while playing.

I'm a huge Halo fan but I'm just going with the normal edition for Reach. I'd prefer a making of DVD or soundtrack. These extras just do not interest me.

Ya know, I think the idea of collectors/legendary/etc. editions for games is great but, so many times, what's included are just worthless trinkets (Reach included). Some of the best I can remember were the Bioshock Collector's Edition (that Big Daddy figurine was solid as a rock - literally!) and the Halo 3 Legendary Edition. I mean, look at this stuff, guys! An NPC's "artifact bag"? What is that? Probably cost 'em 10 cents to make it. If you're a hardcore Halo fanatic, then I can understand, but anything less - don't allow yourself to just be ripped off! Make a stand so we can see more worthwhile special editions!

don't like it...
ugly packaging
nothing inside that looks remotely cool to me
and of course a ingame Pre-Order DLC that you just have to have if you are a Hardcore Fan of the Series. Gladly i am not intrested in the multiplayer part of the Halo games and dont care for multiplayer dlc.
Sorry but IF i even buy that game it will be the default DVD Box...
and i just hate those oversized hype editions between my other 20 default dvd cases.

well i already have the legendary edition preordered... Statue looks sweet, the armor pieces are an awesome bonus (mainly because your multiplayer spartan is your singleplayer one and i love both in the games) the book is great since its helps expand the already HUGE universe and the patches and stuff will look great on my wall

@killer rin Im going with limited edition as I don't want the "statue" but I actually like the spartins, I just don't have anywere to put them. I'm non-the-less happy people like you still make a demand for stuff like that, even if I don't buy that addition, it's really awsome in my opinion... Well the more I talk the more I believe that maybe it's the fact I don't have anywere to put it nor the extra cash to justify buying it:( It is truelly a sad day for this halo fan:(
