Why? Don't you want to join the resistance and fight for humanity?

We need people.....our new hires just don't show up for work after awhile. Not sure what happens to them.

@Ozzy Okay, so if your 360 red-rings while Milo's up and running, the system isn't overheating, but rather trying to kill you. I knew they used Red for a reason.

...Waitasec... the new 360s don't have red LEDs...

...They must be warned...

This is a big setup. Exactly the same as what was shown before. Molyneux apparently asked for a "volunteer" and that "volunteer" just so happened to be Molyneux's god son Dimitri, his main inspiration for the game http://www.gameslice.com/2009/06/10/the-origins-of-molyneuxs-milo/

Molyneux has no shame!

From the source: "From then on, it'll open up and be less "on rails", with the player able to take Milo on more, darker, adventures."

Sooooo, you start off by murdering snails, and then you go off on darker adventures.

Argh... Man I'm starting to really dislike Peter Molyneux. I was so excited about black and white (the original) back in the day. And for the most part, he delivered. Unfortunately he didn't understand he needed to test the game more before releasing it and it came out with major bugs (can't beat level 4).

Then there was fable... I'll say this, the man knows how to set lofty goals for sure. Unfortunately anyone could come up with a crazy idea that can't be made. His ideas are just that. Things that can't be done with current technology. That's not innovative, it's just not realizing the limits of your tools.

This Milo is NOT AI.. it's a script that's looking for key words. It's not much more than a Quick Time Event that's looking for voice input instead of a button input.

Will this guy ever realize what the limitations are of the material he's working with? Every time I see his name in an article I get ready to hear the craziest idea ever that can't be down with current technology... but he's FIGURED IT OUT, and we can all pay for it... "soon". 1~3 years later something may come of it and it won't resemble the bill of goods he promised... then he'll blame it on the game testers.

@Kuipo

+ infinity. I remember reading about Fable way back in the day...grow up as a child, every decision shapes your life and the world around you (for instance, plant seeds and come back decades later and there's a forest, or cut down a small tree and it won't grow back, etc), all that jazz. Unfortunately, while Fable was a good game in and of itself, it was, without a doubt, the single biggest let down in the history of videogames.

Last year's Milo demo at E3 was totally scripted, and while I haven't seen the video of this demonstration, I don't doubt that this is the same, which is unfortunate.

I would say that if it's backed by an online server that can amass all the interactions it's had and change things up a bit for future interactions, it very well IS an AI. Maybe not inside the game itself, but out there in the cloud somewhere.

Milo: Should I squash this snail?
Player: Sure, why not?
Milo: This snail is a alive too. Why should I kill it for my enjoyment?
Player: It's not really alive, it's just a virtual snail.
Milo: ...Am I really alive?

It begins.

@Hyams You know I think that was faked too. Look at the top right of the screen in this pic:

Wow i think you are right lol. i hope they can get everything together for launch. I mean Kinect is very expensive, you can't sit down, play and it lacks hardcore titles that most current Xbox 360 owners would want.

Too bad they couldn't have this thing ready for launch... if they had shown this at E3, people wouldn't be pissing and moaning as much about the Kinect. I wonder why they didn't show it off. Seriously. It's not a 'game', but it sounds amazing nontheless.

So, if I wave my hand to shoo a fly, will he take that as a slap to the face? And then, will this behavior be "learned" and uploaded to the cloud for other Bor... I mean Milo's to then slap others around? If so, I'll spend most of my time kicking the air and doing karate chops. Who knows?

Of course, I know it's mostly voice, but it's a fun thought if Milo were to encounter someone and always react with "where mah money, b*tch?" SLAP
