If anyone's going to make a 3DS online game happen, it's Sakurai, one of the few Nintendo developers to make an online game (Super Smash Bros. Brawl). But how would a versus mode work in an on-rails shooter -- score competitions?

I thought there were some combat sections, too. I can imagine the flight parts being "on-rails" (like Star Fox), but I'm sure there's more to it than that.

This new one looks more like "Kid Icarus and Punishment" so far. I'm still not sure if that's a good or bad thing.

The flying sections seem a bit like starfox, either fly through the environment or around an arena of some sort (you can only fly for 5 minutes or something, open world with a time limit would be annoying)
The ground combat sections seem to be free roaming from the E3 vid, as he was boucing back and forth to avodi the silyl ammount of projectiles flying his way :p

That's because instead of testing distance cross countries they instead tested the distance from the top of main land Jap'n to the bottom of main land Jap'n. So, they were like "Hey it works good there to there. Must work good EVERYWHERE!" Ignoring the fact that the rest of the world isn't as small as Jap'n is.
