Interested in checking out RUSE, but worried you'll get duped into a Ponzi scheme somehow? Fear not! Valve's digital distribution service Steam is opening up Ubisoft's upcoming trickery-based RTS for free all this coming weekend. Oh. No, you're right -- that doesn't seem to protect you from the Ponzi scheme situation whatsoever. Oh well! At very least you get to check out a game for free, right?
We'd suggest pre-loading the game starting right now (available here) so that you can begin duping people left and right when the open play kicks off this Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. PDT.

That's an odd thing to say about a RTS.

You can play it without the Surface tables. It plays like a normal RTS. I did the BETA for it, so I know.

Anyone know anything about the DRM situation with the game for this weekend? Played the BETA before and its actually quite a fun game (managed to dupe my opponent into building loads of tanks with fake AA/fast attack type units, then bombed them with airplanes :P ) but i'm in a dilemma situation with wanting to play the game, but not wanting to support them considering there actions :/

@Osnaz :: What happens when your ISP takes you offline when they stuff up? Do you lose the progress in your game or does it pause and wait for a connection? Anyway regardless of evil DRM they may have spawned, I think they're pretty awesome for ubiart.

I played the Beta version, as well.
Now that the entire game will be free for a weekend, I get to try out a little more of the single player experience. The Beta testers only got access to one single player map.
I will still, most likely, buy this game. I enjoyed what little I played of the beta. I ignored the multiplayer. I'm not a big online gamer.
