PlayStation Plus Hulu = A console Hulu Plus preview, which will become available to "select" subscribers of Sony's PlayStation Plus program. Posting on the official PlayStation blog, PSN senior director Susan Panico has explained that all Sony subscribers may download the Hulu Plus software as of today and "request an invitation to the exclusive preview." If you're already a member of Hulu Plus (you can request an invitation to subscribe online), you'll be able to access the preview today through your PlayStation Plus account.
Hulu's enhanced streaming service, which provides access to TV shows from ABC, FOX, NBC, ETC, will incur a monthly fee of $9.99 -- even to PlayStation Plus subscribers participating in the sneak peek. It'll become available (and effectively cheaper) to all PS3 owners "in the coming months," Panico said (so much for that "July" launch, huh?). An Xbox 360 version is slated for launch in early 2011.

Just go to surf the channel dawt com and link up with whatever show you want to watch. That web browser on PS3 is so unappreciated it's not even funny. I watched that Predators movie last night on my ps3 ... a different site mind you but still ... love it. I'm on the fence about whether or not I should get Netflix. I'd go with that b4 Hulu.

@Ezio Auditore da Firenze if Time Warner/WB were to give Hulu access to to HBO then I'm sure that Hulu Membership would go up.....especially considering that soon HBO subscribers will be able to watch episodes on the Web and supposedly on the go as well....

It's hit or miss. Main reason is because it just archives links ... Some to hulu. I have a good success rate with it. Quality won't be the best in the world but certainly watchable. It didn't use to work good but they updated it a while back to interact better with the browser.

@Chris DPSN AggieCEO XBLThe Aggi That's the problem, you have to subscribe to HBO.
I can't bring myself to pay 12 bucks for 10 HBO channels I'll never use, when all I want is vanilla HBO so I can watch the original series. =P

This reminds me of Eric Cartman telling kids they can't come to his theme park.
'You can't have hulu!!!!'
I used to really enjoy Hulu on my PS3. It was free, which is good because Hulu had some problems with speed.
When they banned all PS3s from Hulu, I got Netflix.
It's a lot better than Hulu, even if Hulu Plus wasn't more expensive. I will also add that PS3 users tend to also have a personal computer.

PS+ subscribers get to beta test something they already pay a subscription fee for ... lame. Hopefully this isn't one of the exclusive betas Sony was talking about. I almost pulled the trigger on PS+ a few times but seeing as how I probably own 3/4 of the stuff they'll be giving for free or discounted I haven't done it yet. Pushing game updates in the background is the best feature to me and thats not something I'd want to pay for.
Still ... this Hulu+ early preview being exclusive to PS+ subscribers smells like the dichotomy MS created between Silver and Gold members, and I don't like that.

There is a difference, Johnny:
Silver members and Gold members - There's no choice, if you want to play online you HAVE to be Gold.
PS Reg and PS+ - You have the choice, everyone can play online.
I want to see how this pans out for you guys. It seems you have an upper class and a lower class system going on...

Starting to sound like the Xbox version isn't that much more delayed.
Hulu+ "preview" coming to PSN in next few months... Then to all PSN+ members a few months after that... That puts Hulu+ for consoles out around the end of 2010, and for Xbox beginning of 2011.

Beginning of 2011 could be April or May. I'd bet Sony has some kind of exclusivity inplace.

One thing Canada needs now, a Netflix/Gamefly/Hulu alternative (As far as I know, we got nothing like those three services (Netflix/Hulu to watch Movies/TV shows - Gamefly for cheaper game rentals.. we got $29.99 per month "unlimited" rentals from Blockbuster.. and my local blockbuster has a VERY shitty selection )

For people like me I appreciate Hulu for the current episodes only. I have no intention on falling behind 5-6 episodes in one of the shows I like and the Hulu backlog isn't sufficient enough for me to shell out $10 a month unless that means I can stop watching TV and just watch Hulu - something I don't plan on doing.
Also, it was a very smart business decision for Hulu to cut Sony browser out of the loop. I cannot blame them for that. It's not like they took the service away from those people...they just couldnt use it on PS3.

That's funny because most of the crap I watch on hulu is crap I could otherwise watch on tv for free.
This kind of feels like a store that opens up a buy one get one package so they can sell the "free" item.
I just hope that it works better than the web browser, home, and pretty much everything else on the system.
