Sure, a trailer about this system translates mostly to footage of menus, but at least you get to look at the super-cute characters as they change jobs. Enjoy more awwww-inducing character art, of the four party members dressed for various jobs, in the gallery below. The 4 Heroes of Light will be in stores in North America October 5, which means you might think about wrapping up Dragon Quest IX by then so you can move on to the next cute, kind of throwbacky DS RPG from Square Enix.

This trailer for Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light introduces the game's "Crown System," which allows characters to change classes by changing hats. Each job includes its own skills, which players can then drag into their customizable Abilities menu.

Between this, DQ IX, Pokemon BW and Golden Sun, it feels great to be a RPG fan and a DS owner.

It's incredible but the DS devs have been almost the only people giving me what I want this generation.
I'll be happy about it and not question it.

You're referring to FFV, right? One of the few Final Fantasies most people haven't played.
Of course it's going to be considered new.
Tons of "games with new ideas" these days actually just took the concept from an older game... but seeing that it's now in 3D and high def, it's considered new.
All video game consumers are blind to these ideas, not just Nintendo ones.

And please... don't blame Nintendo for this, the devs made this - and the devs ain't Nintendo.
Most of the money goes to the publisher anyways - which is Square Enix.
...which is the same company that made Final Fantasy Tactics - which was just a flashier version of Tactics Ogre (though made later on the PS1, is actually a "ported version" as it could be dated back to the Super Famicon... and was also on the Sega Saturn before the Playstation) with less tactics.

Did you just call the DS high def?

No, I was referring that games on other systems are also considered "new" just because they're in 3D and high def.
AKA: Games on the 360 and PS3 have games that supposedly "break boundaries" with "new game options and style" - when really, they're just new for being in HD...
Was stating that since it's a generalization to just blame Nintendo fans for falling for this kind of "false advertising" (though it's more of an insinuation than an advert) - when all consumers fall for this stuff on every system and handheld.
