The NPD figures for June show that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 didn't have a debut comparable to the previous year's game. In fact, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 only managed to unload 32% of the copies sold during Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10's initial launch month, Venturebeat offers. We contacted the NPD, who told us the same thing: "The new Tiger Woods release sold only 32 percent of what last year's release sold in its introductory month at retail. That said, last year's game saw a huge sales increase over previous versions, but still, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 did not break into the top 10 games for the month."
Of course, the first thing that comes to mind is Tiger's promiscuity -- a likely factor behind Tiger's waning popularity. But, EA's Rob Semsey contributed that the slowing Wii market and Tiger's performance on the course as of late are also contributors to the dip in sales. Now the real question is: with the drop in sales, will EA still stand by its man?

I'm a fan of golf and actually, I don't care about Woods' personal life. I'd probably bang even more chicks if I was in his shoes. I didn't get this game because it's EXACTLY THE SAME as last year's. No evolution at all. That's it.

Add a stripper-bangin' game between levels in Tiger '12 and I'll be there.

Sales are down? Fantastic news! Maybe EA will finally realize that a yearly sequel for franchises like this is NOT needed.
I was going to buy it, but didn't for 2 key reasons:
1) DLC is now 800 points per course (as opposed to 600 per course the last 2 years and 400 points 3 years ago).
2) The games price is $70 in Canada - SEVENTY FRIGGIN BUCKS for a golf game!
EA really needs to consider the next Tiger Woods more carefully. Release it as a platform and use DLC as it's intended, to extend the life of the title, not within the first 6 months, but for a good 2 years after. And do not pull this $10 per added course crap. EA has most of these courses designed (at least the "real" courses). Give them for $5 each, and release a new course every couple months for 2 years.
Either way - this recent release will eventually drop to below $30, and I'll pick it up then, because I do enjoy me some golf, but I'm not willing to jump on board any game for $70.
