This is pretty much a non issue. I actually had to change my 360 from 1080p down to 720p to work with my video capture device, and didn't notice even the smallest difference and 61" 1080p TV. I can't see things being any different on the PS3.

As for the whole 3d thing. While I'm not really that into it (yet), you could take all the pessimistic comments in here are 3d, change the word "3d" to "HD", and you'd be looking at the Joystiq comment section from three years ago.

@Vcize

Exactly. People bitched about HD 720p, then again for 1080p.

What a bunch of bullocks. Games that barely run in 720p sure as hell won't run 720p in 3D. Remember, it's a minor miracle when a console game even gets to 720p. The rest is just upblurring and BS.

Gran Turismo 5 / 3D barely looked 720p, let alone 1080p. And trained professionals can't tell the difference? Yeah, maybe on a 23" TV they can't.

@benheck

A lot of PS3 games run in hi def without any tricks.

And GT5 looks great.

The idea that this is some major problem, though, is just console warrior crap.

I have always wondered why games going for a more Hollywood cinematic feel weren't made at 24 frames per second.
