Apple's multiplayer gaming platform for iEverything -- Game Center -- may not have arrived just yet, but it appears that it's getting a bit of a face-lift on the back-end. As seen in the image above (care of Mobile Crunch), the color palette of GC has been lightened and varied quite a bit, going from a black and blue tone to a decidedly more billiard table-flavored one.
Given that the new look also bears a striking resemblance to our friend (and yours) Kermit the Frog, we're not exactly on the fence in terms of preference of the two -- what can we say, it's a lot more welcoming! Now all we need is an actual release of the client so we can see what else (other than the frontmost loading screen) it has to offer.

@AutobotIronhide Engadget has this bug on old articles, too... I guess the problem with copying from Engadget's playbook is that you'll likely copy their bugs... AND MAKE THEM 1000× WORSE!

Isn't Game Center also the name of GameFly's mobile app? If it hasn't already been settled, I'm sure Apple will sue/threaten GameFly for it soon (like they did to Fujitsu because they had a device trademarked iPad since 2003).

Okay, first off, you don't have to feel like you have to sell me on getting an iDevice. I already have an iPod Touch 32 GB. Apple has my money, so any sort of whining on your part isn't achieving a thing. Grow up and stop acting like its your duty to have us all WORSHIP THE ALMIGHTY APPLE.
Second of all, I stand by my statement. Yes, there are PLENTY of good games out there, and yeah, its GREAT that indie developers are doing well, but that's not what I'm talking about.
I'm talking about the vast majority of games in the app store that aren't fun, last 5 minutes, or require your age to be 5 years or younger. There's far too many of those if you ask me.

Personally, I don't give a crap about the games I don't want. When I wanted the first Playstation, I wasn't concerned at all with whether bad games would be made for it that I wouldn't want anyway; I was more interested in the games I wanted, specifically Final Fantasy VII. Same with the iDevices. I'm more interested in the good games that are being made for it.
I guess my only concern regarding bad games would be that they would be lost among the sea of crap, but big game companies seem to be doing well enough to continue supporting it.

Actually that's the thing though, people DON'T buy them. Like the Wii, the app store is experiencing a large divide between what the popular stuff sells and what the rest of the crap sells. I can't just write a boring 5 min game and expect people to pay $.99 for it when freaking flight control is $1!
Are iPhone games different experiences than DS or console games? Of course! But the crap still doesn't sell. (and like console games the crap that does sell has a franchise tie-in)

Stop complaining about how mech you hate apple and idevices. The fact is no one area what you think and apple makes a good product. If you don't like it, don't buy it, you aren't going to change anyones mind. Also, if you are buying a new phone, and your decision rests on what games are available for it, you should rethink your priorities.

I am sure this will have problems starting out, I use an old iPhone now and like some of the games, but I agree most of the games are free and made with a Simple SDK.
