as sweet as this might sound for some, this isn't really a game that screams out Co-Op...

Not a whole new mode. The original PvZ had the wall-nut bowling in the Mini Game section, along with a whole bunch of other fun modes.

That's kind of sad. Get her playing some games. My fiancee and I started with things like Mario Kart and Smash Bros., and now I've convinced her to try Halo and Gears.

I was thinking of getting an iPhone and wanted to ask, what features are excluded from the iPhone version?

Does the iPhone version have the greenhouse to water plants and stuff?

I hope the iPhone version still has mini games, the zombie mini game vs plants was great fun.

@Johnny Locke Basically everything but the campaign has been removed: there are no custom scenarios (read: no Last Stand) and no survivor modes. The mini-games are there, but they are severely limited relative to the PC version in that you only have the option of playing the levels that came up in the campaign (so no I am Zombie or anything that was not in the campaign).

Additionally, you cannot purchase a tenth seed slot (although with the removal of the custom scenarios, you don't need it). The game is still hella fun, but it is quite limited relative to the original (but for the price, it's still a great deal).

As much as I love Plants vs Zombies, it's been a while.

I'm more concerned about Plant's vs Zombies 2, whenever it comes out or is even shown.

@Johnny Locke (Sorry if this comment ends up in the wrong place).

It's annoying how people think that they themselves built a company which they were a customer of and talk crap about the company forgetting the original customers, and speak on the behalf of an entire community.

I'm going to be a PC gamer one day soon, and I don't want people to automatically think I am a dick because of these few vocal people misrepresenting the 'PC gaming community'.

Most people get into PC gaming because they know that as long as they have an internet connection, they will have far longer-lasting backwards compatibility than that offered by consoles. They also are free to choose their own hardware components, and often what game input method they get to use. Not to mention games that allow you to play mods.
Not because they want to be elitist dicks like the vocal minority.

They can develop for whatever console they want. I've no problem seeing PC exclusive titles going to consoles, infact I love it.My friends who hate PC gaming play the games too and it expands the market base. The problem is that now companies keep screwing over PC gaming. It's not the DRM that I'm talking about. It's removing features from past games, not allowing you to set keys for your keyboard, less modes and content then the Wii(Ware), PSN, XBL, 360, or PS3. My complaint about being a PC gamer now is the less content. I don't care about DRM in most cases, as I'll buy the game legit then just custom patch it to remove super DRM. Just the lack of content and support irks me.

Sounds like an excuse to put in a high price tag despite PopCap not bothering to give 360 owners the game for ages.

Bet it costs 1200.

Why are all the PC people getting downvoted? There is a legitimate complaint to be had there...

It's great that this is coming to XBLA, and I'm probably going to end up rebuying it there for these additions, but should I have to?

This happened with Peggle as well. The games come out on PC earlier, but then end up on XBLA with added multiplayer while original PC owners never even see so much as a *paid* update to get those features, let alone a free one.

This is great news, sure, but I find the bitter to outweigh the sweet. How many people bought this game a year ago on PC and thus will never see these features without spending another $10? Quite a few. Is the game worth $20? Sure, it is. Should I have to buy it twice to get the co-op or versus? No; it should be a free update for the PC versions.

Yet that will never happen.

The co-op and versus will be in PvsZ 2, which PopCap will announce on August 2. Give them a bloody chance to talk about it first.

Yet another way to suck up my time.... Definitely one of the best and most addictive TD games ever.... Though I've only played it on my iPhone. I might pick this up on XBLA for co op, depending on the price.....

Side note: the joystiq app (that I happen to be using now) friggin rules. I love that you can comment straight from it.... Something you can't do with any other site. Gets a 5 star from me!

Good sign, already own PvZ on PC, but would totally buy it again if another release has more content. Even a co-op mode and a more minigames would probably get me to buy it, though I would prefer a larger campaign still.
