@edge426

you have to be some sorta hater to dislike the cheesy SyFy classics like Boa vs. Anaconda.

LOL,

If this isn't terrible I shall eat my own head.

Syfy. Because they want to keep the brand of SciFi but also look ridiculous and defensive about it.

P'Shaw.

BSG was great, but we're not talking about masterpiece theatre. I'll watch it anyway and since I expect the worst, can't be disappointed.

Yeah. I read the article and was like, wtf; it says 'you may have a non-ironic interest in watching a SyFy original movie'.

how does that work? take a tv channel that doesn't seem to have a great reputation for original series. add the curse of being based on a video game, which is always a terrible idea. and that might make something people want to watch? why?

hoping that doomed combination will be the new contender for 'worst movie ever', which makes it sort of a talking point if you get to see it first?

just can't wait to spoil all your positive memories of the video game?

actual certified masochist?

all of the above?

:)

This has potential simply based on the fact that the Red Faction Mythology/Universe is really good.

I see this going the other way. Not only is it a syfy movie (a horrible subset of made for TV movies), but it's also a videogame movie. Short of being directed by Uwe Bolle and being simulcast to Lifetime, I don't think there's a worse pedigree for a 'film' to have.

Well, I guess it could star furries...

Believe it or not, Uwe has a decent movie out. It's called Rampage. It's still on netflix if you have it. I was shocked.

Obviously his sister secretly joined the new anti-red group, so she could infiltrate it and stop an army of giant space-Pirahna from reaching Mars, by gathering the groups best scientific minds to create an equally giant mechanical leg to just kick them.

How that has anything to do with anything at all? Beats me, but its SyFy, which means the plot doesn't have to be even remotely connected to the movie itself.

Besides, everyone loved megapirahnas, right...?

They ruin just about everything now.

Hey, we don't want to pay for FarScape anymore. Cancelled.
Hey, we don't want to pay for StarGate: SG-1 anymore. Cancelled.
Hey, Battlestar Galatica was a hit. Let's milk it by continously putting out spin-off movies and series.
Hey, let's put out a new version of StarGate, and make it like Battlestar Galactica!
Hey, we don't want to pay for two StarGate series, Cancel StarGate: Atlantis.
Hey, this StarGate: Universe sucks. Let's just tell people they don't get it!

Seriously, a sci-fi series where they remove sci-fi as the main plot, and focus it instead on "people drama" for the "younger crowd". The first 10 minutes had more sex than the entirety of StarGate: SG-1 and StarGate" Atlantis.

Oh, and let's not forget they put ECW on.

Of course they have - they appropriately renamed themselves to an abbreviated version of syphilis. It's embarassing, itchy, a little painful, and pretty much nothing good comes of it.

I'd say its accurate.

They're still coasting on good will from BSG, and the scene from MS vs. GO where the shark eats the plane.
