Medal of Honor beta now available on Xbox 360

Xbox 360 owners have been patiently waiting their turn to go online in the Medal of Honor beta. After weeks of delays, it appears EA and DICE's multiplayer shooter is now available on Xbox Live. If you've managed to snag an elusive code, you'll be able to redeem it here to exchange it for an Xbox Live voucher.

The beta is expected to end on July 31st, giving Xbox owners at least ten days to get an early peek at the FPS. If you haven't managed to procure a code, stay tuned to our Twitter account. We'll be giving away a few codes later in the day.

Why are they locking people out by using beta codes?
No offense to fans, but it is the first installment of the MoH reboot, it isn't exactly a proven property yet.

It should be available to all. I really want to play it but I'm not that into it to wait around for a beta code.

@Evin so there won't be any of those annoying-ass kids and thank god they didn't have em in the PS3 closed beta. Also, this is at a "no-offense" state.

Don't worry, you're not missing much. I have the beta for both PC and PS3. It's not as good as you'd think it is. I'm pretty disappointed with it. The UI for the PC version is also really badly designed. It's as if they expected you to use a controller when navigating around it.

Is there anyway to snag a code for the beta?

Also what are the impressions of this game so far on PC? I've heard varying reports...IGN I think said it was a lot like MW2 (which isn't bad except I already have MW2).

Is this truly unique or better than MW2 in anyway?

I'm enjoying it right now. The menus are a mess and it does feel a little "beta...ee?", but it still has that DICE vibe to it, which I love. Yes... it is mw2 to an extent (a BIG extent), but the world you play in feels so much more alive than mw2 ever will. I'm pretty sure I saw a plane fly over the level and blow up a building outside of the playing field. Watching the bricks fall and the smoke and stuff fall over part of the map you played in really made me notice the little differences that make this game stand out, even if it is in it's early stages.

Let me guess, Bad Company 2 is the first and only DICE game you've ever played.

But you say MOH feels like DICE because it feels like half-assed clone of BFBC2 and MW2.

If only some of you people had played the genuinely great Battlefield games like BF1942 and BF2 on PC. And of course their incredible fan made mods. But no, the watered down, infantry focused action of Bad Company 2 will have to suffice.

Seeing how there are so many mixed responses, I think I'll step away from this. I would imagine a Bad Company and Call of Duty hybrid to be solid gold, but I guess not.

@KillerBell I've played and i've had more fun than MW2...

Say what you want about the Multiplayer, but DICE, even using many assets from Bad Company 2 has managed to make a compelling experience.

The guns really feel like guns, the sound is as perfect as it can be seeing as the guys at DICE are masters in this area (ok, there are some sounds from BC2), the overall felling is right, they just need to balance a bit more.

It has me thinking that i'd rather play this over MW2 and BC2 over Medal of Honor any day.

@Ashkental it feels like BC2 meets Counter Strike to me. i kind of like how simple it is. i still think Valve could just revamp the graphics for Counter Strike and it would be the best thing ever.

There are tons of fan made graphic mods for Counter Strike that make most of the visuals WAY better. (gun models, character models, etc)

You can use them online too with no problems because they don't modify gameplay elements. I've used some of them myself. Of course then I got bored of the aimbots 10 minutes later, but that's CS for ya.

More accurately, they need to change everything.

Currently it has all of the clunkiness, shitty netcode and animation issues of BFBC2, along with the horrible spawning and camping of MW2. It truly is the worst of the shooter worlds.

I also think the way the guns shoot is very...unnatural. Also, for anyone playing this on PC, the menus are horrible and frustrating.

I am in the minority if I'm not excited for this game at all? Not even for DICE's multiplayer? I love them because of BC2 mainly but it looks like EA kept telling them "it's not MW2 enough!" every time there was a revision.

YEAH DAWG. I get to play it before my subscription dies.

The Beta(PC) is OK. But I think both BC2 and MW2 are better. Its like a mix between them, and while it does have the good parts of both, there is just something missing.

About f'n time...held on to code. Now to see if it was worth it...

The free codes they were giving out on BestBuy.com work. I just redeemed mine for the 360 Beta.

Now, when you guys say "later in the day" does that mean you'll be giving out codes tonight or tomorrow sometime?

I got the PS3 Beta and I'm not that impressed. EA emailed me the beta code for free so I guess that is something.

I have a PS3 beta key that I can't use(because i loan my PS3 out), could someone trade me it for a 360 code?

DICE, You Lost me at Next week

The PS3 beta was pretty fun in spite of the obvious issues, so I'm hoping that Dice has learned enough that a multiplayer demo near the launch will give a much better representation of the final build.

This game is just a half ass hybrid of MW2 and BFBC2....Not smooth. Guns feels too identical to each other. No recoil. Sniping is the worst in any game. Movement is clunky. Pointless kill streaks but the best is UAV. No need for this game to exist when the latter is light years ahead. No offense to anyone who likes the game but I'm not sure what they're going for. To save yourself from your head exploding. My friend this game is a dwarf down syndrome mentally kid, not because its born that way but because they chose to make it that way.

No. Its because mw2 is more smooth and so was BFBC2. If you like this game why not play BFBC2 instead because its still light years ahead. Heck even the beta of BFBC2 and first bad company blows this out the water. But I will watch if they fix all the problems they right now since its only a beta. I expected it to be as smooth as BFBC2 since the multiplayer part is made by DICE.

i was wondering whether you can acces the beta with your bfbc 2 vip code but it does not let me and also if you have any codes could i PLEASE have one i have been trying to get one for the past week now to no avail any help would be very appreciated email dek_mcspirit23@hotmail.co.uk if you cqn help thanks

What's so exciting about this FPS in particular? If it wasn't for the HUD, I wouldn't even be able to tell it apart from COD. Why do we let developers get away with such heinous levels of unoriginality?

This FPS is so exciting because it's not MW2, but it's faster paced than BC2. I always dreamed of a game that was like BF but, kept it infantry based and had smooth player movement like CoD (which I always thought was the thing that made MW so big). Hopefully MoH can deliver these things.

Controls are pretty smooth but the gameplay is a bit meh..

I played the PS3 beta a couple of times and haven't touched it since. I got a free code from EA.com without pre-ordering, so I think it was wasted on me as I'd rather play Uncharted 2 MP.

Game sucks need lots of fixing lots!!!!!

I think this game has potential. It's hard to give a beta really harsh judgement, but it does have the feeling of other games like it. To me it has some realism that other games lack. I have never been in war, but it seems like it has some good realistic elements that make it more interesting. I guess we can wait until the game is actually released to really like it or hate on it.
