Ok so since plus has came out I haven't seen one thing to hit the store worth the 50 bucks a year to make it worth having.

@Drdre74 I know, right?

I mean, I definitely expected to get my $50 worth in the first week alone.

This is unacceptable.

Are you serious? It's been out what? A month? And you expect to get your money's worth that fast? It's for people for who buy a lot of psn games and whatnot so the discounts will add up over time. Maybe you're not the target audience. Hell, I definitely know I'm not apart of the target audience. I just hate when people judge things so prematurely.

@Drdre74 Then you've never played field runners cause that is a really fun game right there easily worth $5 and I stil have 14 months to find stuff that values a meager $45. On a side not Qore is really nice and much better than Pulse.

Wipeout HD...

And if you've already got that, or you're crazy... QORE!

Those 2 alone are about $45 together.

How many games are you playing 14 months later.. and if you don't like the game the playstation plus subscription saved you from a long lasting mistake. Plus, did you REALLY expect for 50 dollars to be getting 20 dollar games every month to KEEP? I mean.. are you serious? So stop with the old and tired "its a rental" conversation.. I got Gamefly and I love that I have saved myself a ton of money by just renting games. If you don't like the services stop reading the posts on it hater..

Personally I go back and play old games very often. Currently revisiting Metroid Prime. Great games are like a fine wine, they get better as they age.

Ok, all the discounts and "demos" thus far have been very lame, but why the heck is no one mentioning the auto-download/update thing?

I was at work, and my PS3 freaking TURNED IT SELF ON, downloaded the update, and then turned it self back off. Same thing with the K&L demo download.

Seriously, with as long as PSN updates take, that's worth more than 50 bucks alone. Now if I could just get it to do the install too.

@Nintari

Well it's a subscription service so obviously you are paying to be a member of the service. One of the benefits of an annual membership is access to free games, once your membership expires so do the games. Makes sense? If thats a game you wanted but hadn't bought you could buy the game outright for $20 and own it forever with no strings attached or you can subscribe to PS+ for an annual (or quarterly) membership at a cost of $50 and have access to the title with strings attached. It's a content consumption membership and if you are the type of person that buys a lot of stuff from the PSN store then it'll give you savings. Personally, I buy a lot of stuff but my issue is I own pretty much everything they're offering so I'm going to wait a while until the discounts start applying to newer content I haven't purchased.

It's like buying one of those vacation coupon books. In the area I live in they sell these $20 coupon books to snowbirds that have around $500 of additional value to them so long as they meet the defined criteria. One coupon may be a free medium pizza so long as you buy another medium pizza or another may be free admission to the gulfarium with one paid admission etc etc. There are also items that are just free straight up but they are only valid through certain dates. Maybe its a free matinee movie but it's only good for one specific week in July. It's still a free movie even though it has restrictions and even though you paid for the coupon book.

It's a good deal if you buy a lot of stuff and it seems over the course of a year you'll likely get at least $500 of free content be it themes, avatars, psn games, minis or classics ... maybe only $100 of that stuff actually interests you ... in that case you still saved money. If you want to keep getting the stuff you have to keep subscribing.

Another way to think of it is like the Gamestop edge card. You have to initially pay for the card but it gives you special benefits like discounts on all used games and a "free" issue of gameinformer. The card will pay for itself if you buy enough content but even if you don't the magazine alone is likely worth the cost of membership. Once the membership runs out so does the magazines and the savings on used content.

So the 'true PS1 classic' was Motortoon Grand Prix?

Sony, seriously..

You know I love you, man, but.. I think you need to get your act together. I just don't want to see you out on the street, begging for change and doing God only knows what for scraps of melon rind.

motortoon gran prix is acualy a classic, some of the other stuff on the store labled 'classics' is totally questionable. i'd go as far as to say they are tainting the legacy of the ps1 by reminding people of some of the rubbish that was released on the console. Delta Force? TNN Motorsports Hardcore 4x4 ?

tf?

The PS Blog note for the game says that it was created by the Polyphony Digital guys before they formed Polyphony Digital. Seems like a good pedigree.

Unfortunately, the PS Blog also says it's only playable on the PS3. Maybe the controls need two analog sticks?

Motor Toon Gran Prix is from the same company the made Gran Turismo. I LOVED this game when I was little. It looks cartoony, but it really is surprisingly deep. You can even do slipstreaming (drafting) in the game!

P.S. One of the unlockable modes is a more realistic version of the game. It's like an early version of Gran Turismo. However, there are only 2 cars and 1 track, IIRC. But it's nice to see things like this in a game that's like Mario Kart in a way,

Another premature ejaculator! Dude, you've had it for 2 weeks... you expected to get GOWIII for free, and have them send you a free Move controller?

Write back in 3 months (which you get free if you buy the 12 month subscription anyways), and if you don't like it by then, you can start complaining.

I have had it since it started, 4th update, i think? it's weak. they started huge with wipeout, and minis, and qore. last week's update was weak. this weeks is worse. i think sony is insane to charge for pictures (avatars) and they aren't doing any favors giving them away.
i expected more, as in real content. not avatars themes and discounts. it's bad enough the selection dropped through the floor, but even worse, it's only for what they decide. so since i don't play resistance 2, my selection is that much smaller.
ps+ is a discount card now, not the premium service they sold it as. i really hope it gets better, but at this rate i probably won't even check the store next week.

Has anyone else noticed a sudden increase in download speed? Whereas before it was nothing to complain about, I'm getting damn near Steam level speeds from the Kane & Lynch demo.

Maybe it's because that demo is the evil forebearer of exclusives to come, and we all know Satan has great internet upload speeds.
