Determine Carmine's fate in Gears of War 3, help Child's Play

The Carmine family is something of a running gag in the Gears of War franchise. More of a dying gag, really, considering a Carmine brother has suffered an undignified death in each game thus far. Naturally, we were all set to see another Carmine brother bite the big one in Gears of War 3 ... and then developer Epic Games threw a curve ball. Rather than putting a red shirt on the latest Carmine -- Clayton, the hulking brute you see above -- Epic is leaving his fate in your hands.

Starting July 29, players will be able to buy two new shirts on Avatar Marketplace, one emblazoned with "Save Carmine" and the other with "Carmine Must Die." Each shirt purchased counts as a vote toward one fate or the other. The winning vote will then be implemented in Gears of War 3. We'd call it shameless ploy to sell virtua-shirts, but the proceeds will go to the Child's Play charity.

If you're headed to Comic-Con this week, the NECA booth (#3145) will also be selling real versions of both shirts for $20. And yes, they do count as votes. Frankly, we'd like to see the Carmine family redeem itself, but we get the feeling that real Gears fans are kind of sadistic. We've placed a poll after the break to confirm our suspicions.

@Panic Blitz Haha, that's what I've heard. Though it was only a difference in 300 votes for him to die. I'm wondering how close the votes will be on this... hopefully a good chunk since it's for charity.

I'm tempted to buy the shirt to save the guy myself.

Let the boy live...he needs to do better work than his brothers thought Anthony was cool until the worm got him. the other one I dont even know his name he died so early lol. I think this one got more of a beef than DOm though so let him live and do some crazy shit

there are four carmine brothers, right? they kill off this third one, and then have a DLC episode called "saving private carmine" where you have to go rescue the fourth.

Anthony was the one from Gears 1 bro.
Benjamin was the one that died by the worm acid in Gears 2.

For whatever reason I am giddy to see a carmine make it to the end, happily ever after. But I also have a lingering feeling if we vote for him to live, Epic will just script for him to lose limbs in some way =/

Its also the only COG skin I play as! Generic soldier Carmine!

Too bad I'm not going to Comic-Con, I would definitely buy a Save Carmine shirt.

Also, as an alternative to Carmine's death... kill the one person i really hate in gears...

Redemption for the Carmine family!

He should have an epic (pun intended) save the world, finally defeat the Locus horde, jump on a mega light bomb and set it off with a chainsaw kind of death.

If me memory serves, you end up finding the other Carmine's COG tag as one of the collectibles in Gears 2 and it says something about his death

I like to play as Carmine in both Gears games in multiplayer... they are pretty swell guys, naive and lacking some battle-sense perhaps, but overall nice guys. In a war to save humanity, why would we want to see more soldiers go down to the Locust horde?

At any rate, Clayton should totally live.

I actually feel bad for the Carmine family.

I wanna see this dude reach the end-credits in one piece.
