Now Front Mission Evolved has been pushed back two weeks, to September 28. The funny thing is, other high-profile games are arriving on that new launch date -- sometimes you just need to mecha decision, we guess. Update: Check out pre-order bonuses after the break.

When we announced Front Mission Evolved's September 14th launch date we joked that Square Enix had neglected to check the calendar. You know, because September 14 is also "International Halo: Reach Day," a notable religious holiday. Also there's another video game coming out that day.

Sadly, I'll grab Halo Reach far before I grab this (coming from a FM fan).
Everything I have seen shows just how badly Double Helix has handled the game. Whereas in Silent Hill Homecoming it was minor, with the only major shift being in the style of Silent Hill shifting from organic, living material entwined with the decayed architecture, 5 pushed it towards the Movie's style, with cold, rusted metals and glows of some foreign heat source emanating from whatever open space in the environment they can.
This one though? Screams Armored Core/genericmechactiongamenamehere ripoff. It has little, if anything new to add besides a multiplayer aspect that sorely isn't needed.

I have no worries about the those other games. But September 28 is the date all sorts of games start pouring out. I have higher priorities for my money around that time though. The recently announced NIS America, psp games, Fall 2010, for instance.

dumb move on their part. This game will be mediocre at best, and can't compete with the big dogs. They should have stuck with the strategy genre.

I remmember playing the Front Mission games on the playstation when I was a kid. For me, it was all about tactics and strategy. I havn't seen or heard much of this new game aside from this, but it would seem that it's become another game where run around a blow stuff up. Am I getting older or are games getting younger?
