Though the Comic-Con festivities don't technically kick off until tomorrow, Capcom's getting things started early with a batch of new character announcements for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. From the Marvel universe, iron-clad antagonist Doctor Doom will be making a nefarious appearance, along with the multifaceted Super Skrull. From Capcom's titles, the pint-sized powerhouse Chun-Li joins the fray, as does Devil May Cry's femme fatale, Trish.
Check out some gameplay footage featuring these new characters in the video posted after the jump, or catch a glimpse of some of their special abilities in the gallery below. Also, doesn't Super Skrull have like, every power ever? That hardly seems fair.
Actually, if you look very carefully at the legs of that particular silhouette, it looks a lot more like Felicia from Darkstalkers. Viewtiful Joe is far stumpier than that, and Felicia's hair tends to create a huge ball in silhouette.
I'm glad they toned down some of Doom's projectiles!... The wall of rocks, and the constant infinite air lasers used to kill the fun of a match... well, it used to kill the fun for me. I'm sure the other guy was having a field day with it.
@ZexionArmando My day was ruined when they said no Ken...how do you leave out ken..he helped make Capcom..I dont care too much about Akuma, But @ least Ken
@Gillz123 I think its Trish from DMC2. Since she has the Sparda sword. Though Trish was just an unlock-able skin that had nothing to do with the story.
Cannot wait to see what other characters are going to be added. I saw 2 silhouettes of Viewtiful Joe in 2 trailers, so I think it's safe to say there's a really good chance he'll make it in.
@Acosta02 yeah i know im pretty disappointed by that choice why cant they think outside the box and add other characters from other series hell add bionic commandO for all i care
So excited for this game! I can already imagine the game having more than enough characters to choose from. I still play MvC 2 from time to time on my Xbox. Loving the art style.
Please, no one write "Cool Story, Bro!" under my post. Please....
Trish was a really poor choice - especially since we already have Dante. She's not even that memorable. The other two are cool additions. I want Phoenix Wright, damn it!
@Misanthropic Gamer WTF is Phoenix wright really gonna offer this game..lets be real. You would sacrifice a choice addition like Cap Commando or Dimitri or something for Wright pointing that chumpy finger of his. You get to play no more crossover games. I'm telling your mama
@PSYCHOxKING He would offer the game fun. And seeing as how he was planned for a while in the redone Tatsunoko VS Capcom, and only omitted because of the size of the english "OBJECTION," Capcom agrees.
So far liking the new characters. Also why are they still using the same attacks as the old game? You would think they would just give everyone new moves.
Yeah, 'cause that's how fighting game sequels typically work...
Characters will almost certainly end up having some new moves and variations of old ones. Expecting them to start with a clean slate of moves would be ridiculous. Not to mention it just wouldn't even feel right if you had a character like Ryu all of sudden having his trademark shoryuken, tatsu, and hadouken replaced by something else. You might as well ask them to make the characters look completely different too. In which case, why even bring back existing characters anyhow?
Damn you capcom hurry up and announce wesker already. So I can finally get rid of all this anticipation and dissapointment when a update doesn't include him
