Though the Comic-Con festivities don't technically kick off until tomorrow, Capcom's getting things started early with a batch of new character announcements for Marvel vs. Capcom 3. From the Marvel universe, iron-clad antagonist Doctor Doom will be making a nefarious appearance, along with the multifaceted Super Skrull. From Capcom's titles, the pint-sized powerhouse Chun-Li joins the fray, as does Devil May Cry's femme fatale, Trish.
Check out some gameplay footage featuring these new characters in the video posted after the jump, or catch a glimpse of some of their special abilities in the gallery below. Also, doesn't Super Skrull have like, every power ever? That hardly seems fair.
It'd make my day if they included ol' Jimmy in this game. So far I think the only Vs. game he made it into was the SNK one. They're gonna need to have at least a couple unexpected SF characters, but I think holding out for Blanka might be wishful thinking. They'll probably end up throwing in one of IV's new characters, particularly Rufus or Viper.
YESSSS!!! every time i see something about this game i have to go and play MvC2. even though i'm horrible at it. i sure hope they put the asian guy from the thor comics that some guy was knocking me for not knowing in a previous post. LOL!!!
i'm hoping for nightcrawler, beast, and mystique. aka the blue man group.
I'm pretty sure there was an earlier interview where they mentioned some sort of licensing issues with getting any of the Fantastic Four in it, and that Super Skrull was really a compromise for that.
And I wouldn't quite say it's a quarter of the work for the programmers (and artists for that matter). They still have to program separate elements for the fire effects, elasticity of the character model, morphing between his normal texture to Thing's, etc.
@jrr noting his abilities skrull was a great addition. i was hoping for a 3 part elements team with human torch thing and Storm but this works out fine..All i need now is mag and storm to tweak it. I'm not a spammer on either character too which will make it more fun to work with
Gene from God Hand, Amaterasu, and Phoenix Wright. For the love of all that is holy, add them Capcom. Or at least add them to the upcoming Capcom vs. Namco games.
I'm glad more Devil May Cry characters are making an appearance. I just hope that Vergil and Lady are included as well. Trish is rather boring in comparison to those 2 characters.
They're already using 2 characters on what's supposedly a pretty limited roster for this one series. Personally I think 2 is enough (although we'll probably see another street fighter in there).

@jrr Rufus would be traaaaaaaaaaash. i didnt like him too much on IV as you can see but cviper would be worth watching, trish or Chun li might wipe the flor with her though
