The Sly Collection launching at $40 this fall
60
Sony has priced the upcoming The Sly Collection at $39.99, identical to the price point given to Sony's previous HD remake release, God of War Collection.
As previously reported, the collection features remastered, high-definition versions of all three PS2 Sly Cooper titles, along with 3D support, Trophies and a couple of PlayStation Move minigames. Even without all the newfangled technological additions, you're getting three well-received games for $40. That's a pretty good deal. Maybe even a steal.

Honestly though, I've never played any of the Sly games. Does that make me a bad person?

not at all.. i didn't play them for the longest time on the dismissal that they are "kid's games", but i got into it one day, and they are a lot of fun really...
i know it seems like a big marketing ploy... but i really love this HD remakes of old games idea.. there's many times where i think to myself "Gee golly gee, i wonder what this series would've been like if they had the graphical power of today?"
although i didn't enjoy the GoW one... but that's because i really just don't like those games at all.

It does, though I'm a bad person right along with you. :( But don't worry, they're giving us a chance to repent with this collection, we better not pass it up! :P

Don't say he's a bad person just because he hasn't played it. Maybe Chuck Norris roundhoused him into oblivion. Then again, he WOULD be too busy playing Sly Cooper to do that....

Nice....and while $40 is a good price....I think I will wait....not even a month or 2 after GoW collection came out it dropped to $29....sure its just $10 but in an already packed Holiday season, every little bit counts.

I have to agree I want to pick it up but I would rather pay $29 for it.

I actually already own all 3, but same, the inner Trophy Collector wants to get the PS3 version - I mean, 3 PLATINUM TROPHIES!
That, as well as the fact that this was my favorite series for the PS2, and I've always wanted to play it on the PS3.

@The Harbinger of Pie Honestly, it's BS like Platinum trophies that we can't bring our saves over to a friend's house. Got to have these ridiculous things for the OCD crowd.

What do you mean? :O
As long as the file isn't copy protected, you can always just copy the Save onto a Flash Drive and take it over a friend's house, and BAM! There you go.

What are you talking about? As someone stated above you can most certainly copy your save file onto any USB storage device and bring it to a friend's house. There are a few games that copyright save files (for reasons beyond me) but the vast majority of games don't.
Keep in mind that save files are tied to the PSN account they are created with so if you give your save file to a friend and he plays it on his PSN account, trophies will NOT be awarded later in the game when they normally would be. In fact, the sound will go off and the message will pop up but it will say something like "Trophy not earned" or something. I've seen it before when my friend was playing with my Trine save file and it was pretty funny.

Nice. Now all I need is a Ratchet & Clank collection and Jak & Daxter collection.

@patboy2008 I think we have to wait for the rumbling of a new game for PS3 of those to come before that....I fully expect to see a new Sly Cooper title on PS in the next year or so...

@RustyJack good deal. I got the phat one from my brother, cause he upgraded to the thin. But he made sure to not give me any games for it.

@jocaju Well, it's not really that sad. I just can't afford to buy a bunch of games for it and my PS2 library is pretty large. I got Little Big Planet, but it's not that great cause the controls are rubbish. Seriously, cannot wait for this one cause I loved the platforming of the Ratchet and Clank series. And I completely missed out on the Sly Cooper series the first time around.

Day 1. Just finished R&C a crack in time and would love hd remakes of all their games as well as the onimusha games that were on ps2. I really hope we get Sly on psp or at least on psn if they aren't doing a full fledged ps3 version.

I also loved it. Considering Capcom hasn't mad mention of it this gen I guess it's just buried and done with. Darn shame.

@Sly C
Trophy whores are probably stoked. But, any gamer should be stoked because they are getting three games remastered in HD for 2/3 the cost of a current new game. This is also great for people with PS3 Slims who maybe want to play some of the great PS2 games.
