Halo Reach Xbox 360 bundle available September 14 for $399

The $399 Halo: Reach Xbox 360 bundle whose existence was leaked by the Ars mole is now official. A Microsoft press release details the limited-edition silver console, which is available for pre-order starting ... now.

The bundle contains a silver 250 GB Xbox 360 S -- which "not only captures the look and feel of the game, but also features custom sound effects from the Halo universe." What? What? It also comes with two silver wireless controllers featuring Reach artwork, a similarly decorated headset, a Standard Edition copy of the game, a voucher for "Limited Edition Elite" armor and an episode from the Halo Legends anime anthology. It'll be out on the game's September 14 release date.

In addition, standalone Halo: Reach-themed controllers and headsets will go on sale in late August, for $59.99 and $49.99 respectively.

No, I don't want them to do that, because then I would have to buy an S after all.

The Media Reader part sets it off. I am not a Halo fan, they are great games, but just not my type of FPS, I am more of a COD guy. But that being said I am really impressed with the look of the system. I will try any game though, and I must say that Reach really looks impressive and I plan to try it out. I really want to get into a Halo game since my friends love them, so hopefully Reach will become the game that sells it to me.

I hope this isn't the same silver paint they use on laptops. It will melt away in my sweaty, sweaty hands.

@gangcar I hope the "special halo sound" is this booming voice that says "YOU'RE PLAYING HALO DAWG!!" and then Master Chef appears on screen and you high-five the hell out of him using Kinect.

I don't like Halo, I don't even really like Xbox, but this bundle looks so nice and so tempting.

man they should include atleast the other stuff from legendary except for the statue or something. it sucks that unless you want to pay another 150 to get the game again you won't get the other things like the statue, flaming helmet and the Halsey documents.

I take it that what they mean by custom sound effects are the noises the power and eject buttons make when touched.

It actually looks pretty sweet. Also that you get two of those controllers doesn't hurt either.

But then again, if I was into Halo I would probably buy it. Also seeing that I've already bought the new just a week ago.

i have the green halo 3 wireless headset got it off a friend for like 20 bucks the color isn't that ugly but this silver shit looks tight too bad i hate halo

Back on topic, it looks like Microsoft is putting a bit more effort into these exclusive console deals. Two custom controlers, a copy of Halo: Reach, wireless headset, etc.? Much better then before.

I'm happy I haven't spent money on the new Xbox yet, as THIS is where my money is going.

Since no one has asked yet: Does this come out cheaper then buying a normal 360 S, two wireless controllers, and headset? The extra stuff isn't that important to me.

Save ~$30. Nice price for bundle. I'd probably going to buy Reach anyway. Looks like I'm throwing down money on a pre-order when I visit my friends tonight (they work at local EB).

@GumbyX Just noticed something. EB and Amazon says you get a wired black headset with the bundle and mentions nothing about the voucher or anime episode. Can't find any info on XBox.com either. :(

Yes I said I don't care about those extras, but if I'm going to buy the bundle, I wana know what I'm going to get right?

Didn't think the new Xbox360 S could get anymore sexier but daymmmmm. I am getting this instead of the black its OFFICIAL. Can't Wait! Saving NOW..............

OMG me wants. That is pretty pretty. I thought Reach for my birthday would be awesome enough but now the game would just be icing on the delicious console cake.

I imported my FFXIII PS3 & it's perfect. The PS3 & X360 are region free so all games can be played. The consoles are multi-language so pick the one you understand.

I want....... but I can't afford. : (
