@NoirR Whats wrong with him being from Colombia? As if Mexico has anything better? Don't give me Mana cause their best work is behind them.

@NoirR I know what you mean, I don't particularly like his music either. The should have gone with "Matador" from Los Cadillacs, that is a song no matter the language barrier would be fun to play.

Yeah but there relevance or how much they're selling right now isn't the point. Juanes was the obvious choice because he's a selling machine, but I believe we are talking about the music here.

For example, I don't care if Heroes del Silencio and Soda Stereo disbanded many years ago, they are for me still the top 2 bands in history of latin rock, and I honestly believe they'd be more fun to play.

Cafe Tacvba and Molotov's best music is much better than anything Juanes has ever put out, in my opinion, and I'd enjoy playing it more than Juanes's music.

@crtavo True if we are talking about playing the songs then yes it shouldn't matter how long ago a song came out. Again I feel "Matador" should be in the next batch and that came out in '94 I believe and Los Cadillacs are far from relevant anymore.

Matador would be great. I'd love some Heroes del Silencio, with something like La Sirena Varada, Entre Dos Tierras, or Deshacer el Mundo.

Maybe some Soda Stereo with their best known songs: De Música Ligera and Persiana Americana.

Can't we all agree that once the 90's ended, latin rock music died? Go to a bar in Latin America and they keep playing songs from the 80's and 90's because new music sucks. Belinda, Juanes, Panda? It's all crap.

yeah, spanish rock had it's best in the 80-90s and now it's all about indie bands (mostly killers wannabes) and pop music, there're some decent bands tough but sadly nobody cares about them

Who could forget "Hay Poco Rock & Roll?"

The first spanish song in Rock Band was "Hay poco rock & roll" by Platero y tu.

Well, Juanes is fine, i hope Harmonix puts some Maná, Caifanes/Jaguares, Cafe Quijano, Cafe Tacvba, Chingón, Heroes del silencio, Jarabe de palo, El Tri, El Gran Silencio, Los Lobos, even Mägo de OZ.

And I'm Mexican, so... sorry for my bad english

This is a... start. As long as they star expanding from here i have no problem. Juanes is... popular. Not awesome. Not the best. But it's definitely a start. I want Molotov, Heroes del silencio, Mago de Oz, Mana and more.
I just hope they don't start releasing spanish Pop.

Cafe Tacvba, Héroes del Silencio, Mago de Oz (the old stuff), Soda Stereo, Hombres G, Auténticos Decadentes, Fabulosos Cadillacs, Jarabe de Palo, Molotov, Kadeho, etc. are all superior Rock en Español acts. I'd be happy with any of those.

But good for the people that enjoy Juanes.

@crtavo Hombres G are awesome! I'm not so big on Spanish rock but they recently played with Enanitos Verdes and they have not lost their touch even though their old. Hombres G is the only band I can go back and keep listening over and over again. Although their accent takes getting used to their sound is rockin fun.

"With that kinda résumé, Juanes seems as qualified as anyone to introduce the first Spanish-language songs into Rock Band with a 6-track pack next Tuesday."

So I guess if we're going by pointless grammy's, Mariah Carey would be qualified to introduce Mexicans to American rock?

Juanes is like the Latin Grammy Killer. Every year he get's nominated wins most of the awards on show. Also his guitar rifts are very challenging if you have heard his music, very good indeed. Too bad theirs not that much Latin Rock representation on Rockband. This has to change.

Juanes is good and all, but... Soda Stereo plz. They were the best Latin American band while they lasted, and have some of the best hispanic songs I've heard. "En La Ciudad de la Furia", "De Música Ligera", "Persiana Americana", to name just a few... definitely need to be added.

Also, Cadillacs. Definitely needs Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.
