Final, Ultimate Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions universe revealed
34
As deduced by our industry-leading experts on men who are also spiders, the fourth and final Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions universe will be Ultimate. That is to say, it will be set in the Marvel Comic Ultimate universe -- we can't vouch for its relative "ultimateness" quite yet.
So, what's different about this one? Well, according to IGN's Comic-Con preview, the world of the Ultimate universe is bright and cel-shaded -- a stark contrast to Spidey's pitch black Symbiote suit. Spider-Man (who's voiced by series veteran Josh Keaton in the Ultimate 'verse) will encounter large groups of SHIELD troops and Carnage Symbiotes, which they'll be able to deal with simultaneously using their suit's increased offensive capabilities. Whip swaths of enemies with your Spidey-tendrils, shoot web-spikes out of your chest, or summon black spikes from the ground to wreck enemies' shops.
So, he's basically like the guy from Prototype, only he's much less inclined to eviscerate every single civilian that wanders into his field of vision. How nice! Look for our multi-dimensional preview of the game later today.

I'm pretty sure a few people are going to eviscerate every single civilian anyway.
Because I picked the "good" side when I played Infamous, I think I might be one of them.

Should've been Deathlok Cyborg Spider-Man from the early 90s:

Hmm we need more revealing of the "Gameplay" than we do of the universes. But if its anything like Web of Shadows its a Day 1 purchase for me

One of these days I'd like to see a game designer make a Spider-Man game and not have to rely on using anything Symbiote related. Other dimensions seem interesting but I was hoping for something not Ultimate related.

I'm really digging how much there putting into this game. A few of the spiderman games are fun but always seems they couldve done better. It got to the point where it makes me feel like I have a knot in my stomach and then keep wishing it will be better like an AAA title. Looks more promising than the past. Let's hold hand and pray.

In this case, it's "does whatever a particularly aggressive Tar Baby can."

I don't think I'll enjoy the Ultimate universe as much as the others, mainly because there has already been an Ultimate Spider-man game and I played that years ago.

Considering the Ultimate Spiderman game was what got me back into comics after a few years hiatus, I'm really excited for this new dimension.

Well that's disappointing. Was really hoping they'd go into the Web of Spiderman Universe, then we could have Armored Spidey.

If this turns out to be as good as Batman: Arkham Asylum will definitely be adding it to my collection.

Ugh, Ultimate? That got its own game not THAT long ago, didn't it? With Noir in, I was hoping for Spider-Ham as a counterbalance. Or perhaps, even cooler, the Marvel Zombies universe.

While it should have been obvious that they would go with one of the more popular universes, I kinda wanted them to pick a universe that really wasn't well known.

Or give credit where credit is due and the guy from Prototype is a direct rip off of the symbiotic suits from spiderman first appearing in '84/'85.
That's kinda like saying COD MW was the first to have stat progression and unlocks.

That's awesome. Loved the game in 2005, shame I never beat it. Shattered Dimensions looks like a lot of fun.

I hope it is better than the Ultimate comics. Amazing beats them in every way.

You know, with all the choices they had doing Ultimate just seems like the lamest and safest choice. Why they waited this long for its reveal boggles me. They should have saved 2099 for the big last reveal.

Lame!
And I don't feel I need to explain it . A lot of other posters have done it for me.
