APB turns handsome gentleman into human avatar
29
We really hope that Realtime Worlds' living APB avatar, Josh, is getting paid quite a few duckets, as he's not only getting the future-punk rocker haircut of an in-game character, but also a septum piercing, not to mention two giant wings tattooed on his back. He's being called "The Human Avatar," and, well, he's a living advertisement.
Fans of the game (and generally folks with cruel hearts) have been voting on various stages of the gentleman's development over the past few weeks at the project's official website. At this point, all but the final stage has been completed: clothing. Apparently, Josh will be donning a steampunk outfit. And you know, we're okay with the outfit. Heck, we're even okay with the piercing. It's the life-altering, less than easy to remove tattoos on his back that seem like the bigger issue here. Hopefully Realtime's paying him enough to get them removed (with lasers!) after all this madness is over with.

That's definably strange. I was thinking about getting the game, but hesitated. I've read the reviews, but haven't really decided. Any players out there to help me hop the fence?

@ObiBen8 Why would you cover up the tattoo, and remove the piercings? Some people might like his hair, I don't, but that is no reason not to grow it out.
I love Tattoos~ & I have a piercing.

@Acosta02 ;D No, but it would be awesome if it was :] It's like playing truth or dare, no matter what the dare is I'm going to end up doing it anyway. Rather it is running naked around a cops car (done) or getting snake bites, wearing eye shadow, and convincing a person I am about to kill myself (done). There is excitement in the chaos. People try to hard to control life.

Why would he get paid to remove the tattoos? His wings look pretty cool and seem really well done. And let's face it, the APB character customization engine has basically endless possibilities and yet the vote on the tattoo only had 4 options. Josh picked which four tattoos he'd liked to have and we got to vote for one of them.

I'm not trying to be snarky, but isn't their more pressing areas that Realtime Worlds could be focusing their efforts and money towards? Come to think of it, it sounds like they should really be saving their money if anything.

That's why I spend my days attempting to overthrow governments, my nights trying to resurrect Cthulhu, and ere I put my head to rest I always play a nice game of Russian Roulette.
Because that is exactly what is wrong with the world. Not enough chaos.

@The Nth Doctor Your comment went crazy, but yes! :D Control makes the world go round. All we got is this fake chaos that is caused by people wanting to control people. War =/= Chaos.

It's not like they tattooed a giant logo on his forehead. Yes the design was chosen for him, but he wasn't FORCED to get it. He chose to go along with it, knowing he'd have it forever. Most likely he's happy to get a free tattoo out of it, done by a talented artist.

Meh - the guy obviously agreed to the process, so I don't have a problem with it. This isn't much different than all those people who go into a tattoo shop and get the flash that's on the wall.
BTW, is anybody else irked by the glaring grammar mistake in the description paragraph? Lack of professionalism, FTL.
