FPS games just aren't realistic enough. Thankfully, CTA Digital -- maker of fine products, like the Wii football accessory -- have come up with a rather elegant solution: a replica plastic rifle, with a trigger and built-in speaker to support the controller's three sound effects!
The controller features every button on a standard DualShock controller, making it compatible with games other than Call of Duty or Battlefield. Imagine playing the latest Shrek game the way it was meant to be played -- behind the scope of a rifle.
The controller is available for pre-order on Amazon for $64.99, and is expected to release on August 2nd.
@Twist You don't need Kinect for light gun games. I don't even see how the kinect would be useful for one. This old PS2 Time Crisis game I had just came with a Wii style sensor bar for it to track where you were shooting.
yeah, just like everyone has been saving...... its not a move accessory. whats the point on buying this now.. might as well wait for the move to come out with something like this. and that little speaker? lol im sorry, not trying to show off but my sorround sound quality will only be diminished by this sound.. nice try thou... try again! with move this time...
So you don't actually aim with the rifle itself, you just hold the thing in your hands and move the analog sticks around like a regular controller? BEST. HARDWARE. EVER.
Really? Because I live in Canada and know plenty of people who own Airsoft paintball guns that look basically identical to real guns. They look way more like real weapons than this thing, which is obviously a cheap, stupid toy.
Airsofts are best clear plastic, otherwise. I ran into this trying to get a metal - very realistic airsoft gun ordered. Luckily we do live here and the cops would not bother with toy guns.
Like others, came in here expecting PS3 Move. But this is just fail. The hell is the point of it? It's like the Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw controllers for the GC and PS2. No one actually uses it as a controller LOL at least good anyway.
What the hell were they thinking then? A gun that you don't point where you want it to point onscreen? That's almost as useful as a gun that doesn't shoot where you aim it in real life! Maybe they should work on that next.
Hell, even some kind of fake gun for Natal would be a better idea than this. Just about anything is a better idea than this.
